foxinsocks Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Now were are back hoofing the ball up to Howard - with King going AWOL inb the hole Gallagher not getting stuck in and ball watching... yet Johnson doesn't make the starting line up. We are right back to where were were last season when we were sinking to Dev 1. Sven made us believe in a different way of playing..OK we didn't get there yet - but we need to press on. The goals will come from having nifty midfield palyers linking with the stricker(s) - slipping passes throught and running through. ( King gets in the the earea and looks to pass! - they need to take responsibility and go for goal - these keepers are not premiership guys) - I think we look better with Johnson at the back of the diamond - I would play Wellans left, Abe right and Fernandes in the hole. OK it was the owners right to sack Sven - and mine to say they moved too soon - but why do it before sorting out the secession .... it wouldn't happen in any other business! Meanwhile the caretakers have taken us back 15months!
cc_star Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Caretakers won't be there by the next game so their performance won't have anything to do with our future But this supposed hoof ball Pre-Sven is becoming a common misconception, aside from the short spell of the supposed sexy football of relegation candidate Sousa we played winning football. We didn't hoof, we got the ball out to the wings, we got the ball through the middle or we got the ball up front, whatever we did we won more than we drew or lost & that has seemed a very long way away so far this season.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Agree with star... Pre Sven (lets face it, under Pearson) we were a united, well organised unit of players, though none themselves world beaters, played together as a team. Like peterborough this season, Swansea last season.. There is no compensating for that team ethic, people playing for each other and generally being settled. You could say that both Sousa and Sven have fooked this all up and that it's gonna take some time to get back.. Something's wrong, that's clear.. If you really think about it with a clear head, compared to what was predicted, this season has been, thus far, a fookin disaster. However, one which can improve dramatically with the right manager IMO.
footballfox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 IMO,Sven style needs one good striker (Robinho,Manchestercity) plus ten men sit behind the ball, this technique will work for a good defence and a brilaint striker but would not work when most of the sqads are average plyers. His sqad were not trained to played in dimension.
