haraven Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Loved reading this first post. Some true classics in our history.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Back Row: Glover, Cross, Large, Stringfellow, Shilton, Rodrigues, Woollett, Nish, Bell Front Row: Sjoberg, Sinclair, Svarc(?), Roberts, Tewley,Gibson, Norman. Bobby Roberts and David Gibson - two of my all time greats. Peter Rodrigues was master of the slide tackle. So many memories of this era. Oh dear. Alan Woollett. Blonde curly hair. I used to dread seeing him in a line up, as he was not a very sound defender, in my opinion. Maybe he only played badly when I watched him.
mikey54 Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Poor old Woollett, could be brilliant or crap. I remember one particular game against Everton in the FA Cup - 1968 I think. He came into the side to do a man marking job on Alan Ball and did a brilliant job. He didn't really fit in with Bloomfield's style - I'm sure Frank Worthington made some reference to him in his book, turning up for training in a donkey jacket.
