wellyfox Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 WellyFox did you read my posts above about being BACK IN THE DAY? or did you ignore that, get on your high horse and try and get one over on me? Proof it actually happened EVEN ON CHRISTMAS DAY. Look here. Now take a look below Saturday, 24 December 2011 Inverness CT v Aberdeen, 12:30 St Mirren v Rangers, 12:45 Hearts v Motherwell, 13:00 Celtic v Kilmarnock, 13:30 Dundee Utd v Hibernian, 13:30 Dunfermline v St Johnstone, 13:30 I rest my case. Your case is not rested the comment was xmas eve not xmas day so the screws up your first point. On the league point yes possible for a saturday fixture we could play xmas eve. But would still play boxing day or not on a one off. But your comment eluded to regular xmas eve games and no boxing day. Oh and sorry to point this out but your full league program for a saturday xmas eve happens to be scottish. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm are we not English and play under a different league. Oh ant to your back in the day comment your fixture list has not happened yet

Ashley Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Well done Ashley But as I did say we may have played a saturday fixture on xmas eve and played boxing day too. Thanks for proving me right. I think I've proved my self right. You're wrong go back to my original post? Edit: Your comment was to this fixture list about playing christmas eve and boxing day. Mine were BACK IN THE DAY

Mine were BACK IN THE DAY Ashley your comment implied we played xmas eve instead of boxing day and also as regular fixtures. We don't and never have that you have proven.
stourbridgefox Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 There was an article in one of the papers a while back. The fixture computer is just a laptop. All oddities and police requests are imputed and requirements for Boxing Day fixtures to be as local as possible too. The thing then works out the fixture list. So they do try to keep Boxing Day fixtures local. Although Ipswich keeps turning up for us which doesn't seem that local to me.
stourbridgefox Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 It wasn't in the paper, it was on the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/06/secrets_of_the_fixture_compute.html

AoWW Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Very tempted by this fixture (could get me out of having to visit relatives!) but like fook am I getting up for an 11am kick off!
gazfox9 Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 I remember the old 11 o clock kick offs, and I have to say I prefer them to a 3 o clock kick off on boxing day. Gives you the whole afternoon to carry on on the lash!
liamsm Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 In the 50's and 60,s maybe even early 70's. I'm sure Thracian, DavieG or any other older generation could clear this up(no affence). no offence taken, but it wasn't in the 70's and i would like to know when in the 50's or 60's, i don't think christmas eve has been a match day unless it was on a Saturday and then there would still be a match on boxing day
