Football Fans Unite for Fabrice Muamba

This has gone too far for me.

minutes applause yesterday... he's not dead for crying out loud.

What's that got to do with it? He very nearly was and still could. We're all football fans, it's about showing support and unity, think what it might mean to his family, friends and teammates. What's the harm?

Seems all a bit premature to me.

I think a lot of these things are done because organisations like the Premier League are afraid of being branded uncaring or insensitive.

Did whole stadiums of supporters spontaneously chant his name because the Premier League are afraid of being branded uncaring or insensitive?

That was at the game where it happened, totally understandable and credit to them.

You can see how anal people are about subjects like this these days but the 3 or four people jumping down my throat within seconds of my comment.

I feel sorry for the lad and wish him the best, but the reaction so far in my opinion has been premature.

It's not premature, like I said it shows support. If that's how you feel then fair enough, you're not Hitler :P I just feel it's good to see supporters showing unity. A minutes applause does seem a bit forced but I very much doubt the cynical reasons you state. Each to their own I suppose.

It was started by Leicester fans at the Chelsea match.

I didn't hear that on the telly.

I think that's nice, and so were the t shirts, but a minutes applause like he is already dead is wrong in my opinion.
