Who knows what Cook could have produced today. Sarah Stevenson was touted for gold in the Women's Taekwondo but she was defeated in the first round. Form can go out the window when it comes to the Olympics.

It can do of course, but if you leave out the World Champion and World Number One for someone, you had better make sure you hit the Gold.

The man they selected won an olympic medal, therefore it is hard to critisise the selection. What i dislike is how you are only allowed to send one athlete per weight division in these events. I think if you have several athletes who are among the best in the world then you should be allowed to send more.

It does say his form has been shit since he stopped training with the rest of the olympic team though, doesn't it? Or did I misread that? I must admit I was skim-reading just to see if anything even vaguely race related popped up. Unsurprisingly it did not.

Quite the opposit he had hardly any success until he left the British Taikwando setup and got his own coaches, physios, the works, basically went it alone. Shortly after he's a world champion and world number 1 Which is exactly why they don't like him, his success is showing them up, his success suggests they hinder their atheletes instead of developing them.
