Same here, fitted windows, doors internal/external, custom designed wardrobes, complete kitchens, full bathroom suites including shower, rewired house and added numerous sockets, put up fences, laid slabs/lawns, made a chest of drawers, trunk for my sons LPs, coffee tables etc. I think with most minor jobs apart from lack of inclination many don't even know how to hold a screwdriver or what the difference is between a posidrive, phillips or slotted head screw is. necessity is the mother of invention DIY
