His points to millions ratio isn't very good.

He was injured for quite a large chunk of last season and I think Benitez will have realised that they can't afford to "rest" him as much as they did last season. The way he's started off with 5 goals in a couple of hours, albeit against pisspoor opposition, suggests that he feels he's got something to prove. Also needs to keep up a certain level of performance to start in the World Cup, although his place looks pretty safe. I reckon this could be his best season yet.
