Rincewind Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 When Wetherspoons have their fests they normally have an Aussie ale. Think they brew it here though. Too far to ship. Someone comes over to supervise the brewing in one of our places. Same with Japan, Mexico US etc.
Leicester Piggott Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 I had some Doom bar in Cornwall the other year and thought it was crap. Don't understand the love in. Perhaps you had a poor pint.
marbelladave Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 Yeah i like the Coppers Pale Ale (The green one) goes down a treat. Don't remember the Pale ale, might not have been available back then, was 20 years ago....... Draught Sparkling Ale was superb, decent enough in bottles but the draught was something else, world class I thought and I really knew my beer back then....... The dark Reschs was good everyday drinking, much better than the pale (and not very good) Tooheys and Fosters that dominated the Sydney market back then. Still I suppose you grew up on VB.....
Webbo Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 I think when I lived in Rushey Mead the 3 kilns used to serve Mansfield Bitter, now that was a nice pint.
Guest Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 Glad to hear the ale present went down well Roo. Hadn't thought of it before, but Marble do some cracking ales. One of the benefits of living in Manchester is there's always plenty of decent independently brewed ales to try.

Tooheys and Fosters isn't really avaialble down here. The standard beer on tap is Carlton Draught, but i've recently changed over to the VB which is a bit better on tap. If it's just me will upgrade to a premium beer an aussie craft beer or a pale ale. Nice one, I'd be delighted if I got that, Grandad must have been made up. Well he must of had one of them last night cos he called up my old lady to say how proud he is that she has brought up such good kids
