Good curry places near Walkers Stadium

Good afternoon chaps,

I'll be coming over to watch your lads face the Inter players brave enough to venture into our warzone tonight.

On previous visits to Leicester, I've had some great Indian food over on the Belgrave Road, but tonight I'm looking for something nearer to the ground.

Are there any decent Indian restaurants within walking distance of the stadium?

There a re a couple on London Road opposite the Train station, Shimla Pinks, Nila's Palace etc.

Not as good as the Belgrave Road places, but will do the job.

Then at the end of London Road there is an Indo Chinese place called Yen Lin

The Tiffin on London Road is excellent or if you can be bothered to venture out to Oadby there is a place called Swatlands which is regularly voted one of the best restaurants in Leicester and oddly enough is Englebert Humperdink's favourite restaurant!

I used to buy sweets from Swatlands before it was Swatlands when I went to see my Grandparents who lived in Oadby, when I was a wee kiddie.

Childhood fact of the day.

I prefer these Pub / Restaurent type places these days, great food (mixed Grills and Curry)

A few in the blegrave area, Harmony Club, The Coronation, Sizzlers, Flamengo Bar and rill, Jungle Club.

Quality food!

Well, as I'm sure you're all dying to know, we ended up in a place we've been before, just as Belgrave Road becomes Melton Road.

All the places on Belgrave Road looked to be shut. Do they close early, or on Mondays or something?

Anyways, always nice to visit the Walkers, nice stadium you've got there. Mo Sylla looks like a handful and the lad at the back, number 4, whoever he was, looked composed. Good luck for the season. You'll need it with that lumbering oaf De Vries up front ;)

How about Spicy Haandi on Walnut Street?

Spicy Haandi on GoogleMaps

That is pretty close to the stadium and is rumoured to be rather good and reasonably-priced. :D

Best Curry house in the West end (if not Leicester) is Jamal Balti House on the corner of Braunstone Gate and Narborough Road. Book though cause its always rammed.
