Callabinho Posted 12 March 2013 Share Posted 12 March 2013 A load of rubbish, drum adds to the atmosphere This would be true, unfortunately the drums importance amongst a collective group of people seems to have diminished over the years. If you were to find yourself in a tribal group or any ethnic gathering for that matter the bass drum always be present, as it is essential to maintain the pulse of the hymn, or in footballs case the 'Chant'- which has in fact pre-dated any sporting events (with the drum). Unfortunately the atmosphere has come under much scrutiny as being almost non existent and it seems we have a new reason for why we think this is every season. Maybe it has become a tired formula? Maybe people are so stuck in one routine that its hard to snap out of it. Every now and then we will have a game that is bouncing and the atmosphere inspiring, other games just collective moans and groans resemble the atmosphere. Look at teams like United they have become so used to winning that it has almost become predictable 'turn up, win, go home'. Is football become too predictable, or even boring? Has become for many of us something to do on a saturday afternoon? For me football as a whole has lost it's identity, we are watching a completely different game today than our grandparents did! Gone are the days of standing on rotten old benches, boggy pitches and little riches cheering on the local lads with a steak pie and a bovril, here are the days of 30,000 all seater theatres with multimillionaires practicing their hobby, putting on the blue and white uniform to perform their duties privileged the wear it? or just another day in the office? From the humble but mighty filbert street > impressive architecture of the walkers stadium, covered with the famous faces of our great football club that many of us still hold close to our hearts > symbol of King power company. #Againstmodernfootball.
