Guest MattP Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Excellent read in today's Grauniad by the always impeccable David Conn. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2013/may/06/anfield-liverpool-david-conn?CMP=twt_gu
davieG Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 We had similar aspirations and practices with respect to Burnmoor St.
Guest Bilo Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Excellent read that, if somewhat fuelled by your anti-Liverpool agenda. It's quite sad to think that City would have had to do something similar if they'd wanted to redevelop the East and North Stands at Filbert Street. It's a tough one really, because I think we'd all prefer to be in a redeveloped Filbert Street than where we are now, and haven't really given much thought to the implications that the compulsory purchase orders would have had.

In an ideal world, the spare land at Freeman's Wharf could have provided thousands of new homes, more than enough to rehouse those displaced by any extension. But of course, housing companies would much rather butcher the countryside than redevelop industrial sites.
Fox92 Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 Didn't realise they made fhe decision to expand. Wonderful stadium is Anfield, my favourite away ground.
