The Darkness's Justin Hawkins, Tim Wheeler from Ash and Har Mar Superstar are to form a supergroup.

Ash bassist Mark Hamilton told XFM the new outfit would be called White Slave.

"Tim's been talking with Justin and Har Mar about putting together this new band called White Slave," he said.

"Har Mar's gonna sing and Tim and Justin are gonna be duelling guitarists. They're still trying to find a drummer at the minute, as well as a bass player. Would I do it? Nah, it all sounds a bit Spinal Tap for me."

Hawkins is being secretive about the project but, at a recent press conference, he did confirm the band's working title of White Slave.

"I would prefer not to speak of that matter at this exact time. I'd like to concentrate on my side project The Darkness," he said.

Hamilton also claimed he and Ash drummer Rick McMurray are following Ash guitarist Charlotte Hatherly's lead and forming their own band.

"Rick and me are planning on putting together a Satanic metal band called The Goat Of Mendez," Hamilton confessed.

"Basically it's all really, really full on Death Metal... with just goat vocals."

sounds fantastic! there should alway be room for humour in music otherwise all we'd have is the very dull coldplay, travis, doves, snowpatrol, keane etc
