Jace Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Also it amuses me how next to nobody here seriously talks about boycotting the club, but because of this thread it's now being debated as though it's something people are considering. The irony no one was talking about boycotting until the OP
Fox92 Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 I'm not advocating boycotting the club. However, if things do change, then we as people can act to change things for the better, no? The bit I've bolded is contradictory, as a business is interested in keeping its "customers" happy, and on the last point, I didn't attend a single game in 03/04 because I and people around me had lost interest due to the sterile atmosphere in 02/03, a season in which we'd nearly pissed the league. So if (and it's a big if) the club offended me to such an extent that I'd begin a formal boycott, then yes, yes I would.Yeah it was a bit contradictory now I've read it back, and I do agree that fans are obviously customers because all football clubs are businesses. If they see a drop in attendance, whatever reason but mainly via people choosing to not attend, then yes, I agree they have to change something just like any other business. Customers/fans in this case, have to be priority because without them there is no business/club, but the point I was trying to make I guess, is the fact if a couple boycott then I doubt they'll see it as a decrease, but if thousands didn't attend then they'd have to improve it, yeah. But it shouldn't take people considering boycotting their club for a change to happen. I don't think anything significant can be done about the atmosphere, I do believe its due to the modern ground (look at Arsenal, Man UTD etc), they don't have great atmospheres but compared to Everton who seem to have a very good atmosphere (older ground). So the debate of atmospheres do bore me because we go through it every four or five months... But what I do expect the club to do is drop prices of tickets, I mean, some of the prices quoted by people on here and on the radio are ridiculous. I'm a STH, So I wouldn't want any 'undercutting' I guess, but if we can attract more people in, then surely it's better for the future? I hope people understand what I'm trying to get at, not the best at explaining on the internet.
