Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Did a Fire Service exercise in the old abandoned Leicester International hotel on humberstone gate. Place was a mess like those photo's. Exercise started at 8 and finished just after midnight... no electricity... pitch black and fully smoke logged top to bottom (artificial) We placed 18 dummies to be rescued. Freaky as hell for the isolated breathing apparatus teams, the shining was mentioned. Plus running it, and for safety, the instructors had infra red cameras, watching crews search and chucking the odd bit of broken furniture about to make noise got them cooking. Abandoned hotels are eerie places. They did find all the dummies eventually - took four hours though. Bloody hell sounds a nightmare
