Vlad the Fox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 No it's been going on for ages. Only being highlighted now purely due to circumstance. No of course they wont show that kind of solidarity but if I'm being dragged into hypothetical arguments like "if you don't buy it doesn't make it right" that's going to be my come back, any hypothetical argument ends with the customer is always right. The fans have the power to do something about it and IMO due to the fact that they sat there and took it willingly for years without so much as a peep, they only have themselves to blame if United keep doing It was a flippant response to your reply to my original post. My argument is that to remove something that was purchased in advance because a second product isn't purchased at a later date is wrong regardless of whether it's in the terms and conditions. Football clubs take advantage of the fact that their supporters will put up with a lot to watch their team and know that supporters won't boycott their team, (they have a loyal catchment that take pride in following their team) Cardiff and hull are an example of this. For me it is irrelevant whether this has been going on for years or just from the start of last season, or whether fans have been happy to go along with it in the past. Why should they be forced to buy tickets for a game they don't won't to got to? As I've said above terms and conditions can and have been challenged in the past and successfully turned over.
AS78UK Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 On the flipside, aren't Utd just saying that a season ticket therefore includes cup games, but as they don't know how many matches there will be, you have to pay for those individually....

Well no, because it's separately paid for fixture, it's not part if the season ticket. And they are actively banning fans from attending a prepaid for game on the basis that they've failed to turn up at an extra game. As Albert said Liverpool offer the option for cup game tickets to be automatically paid for for season ticket holders should a home tie arise, but the don't ban fans that don't take up that offer. Man Utd getting double pay for one seat at a fixture, they're having their cake and eating it, with a huge dollop of cream on top.
