Guest Col city fan Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 I know, you've improved a lot. I'm just saying it might be different next season if we begin to struggle. I'll take that from Albert Einstein fella, but not from you..
The Horse's Mouth Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 I'll take that from Albert Einstein fella, but not from you.. mate no need to be bitter and that. I know it's not easy for you to admit you're wrong
dedlock Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 I'm being serious when I say I'd like to see Nigel Pearson now tied into a 5 year contract. Even if we don't stay in the Prem, I'd be happy to see him at the helm to take us straight back up again. But let's now give the man the contract he deserves and continue with the development of the club. What I DON'T want is to see us perhaps starting to struggle a little next season, followed by tons of speculation about changing the manager. Let's not do that anymore. Well said Col. Don't mind the knockers. Many of us had doubts at the end of last season.I was deliighted when we first appointed NP, appalled when he was allowed to go to Hull and relieved when he returned.Last season's slump left me,with many others ,doubting.I was unsure at the beginning of this season if NP had the tactical capability.Remember 3 at the back pre season? What he has done is create a good young squad, capable of stepping up,supported by a few older, wiser players, they may not regularly play but have clearly contributed to the team/squad ethos. In the past successful City managers have been lured away. The owners have shown faith in NP's project,a new contract is hopefully a done deal.I agree he and his team should be allowed the patience and security to continue the post Sven rebuilding. It seems NP and his team are already planning for next season. At the end of season those who are offered new deals will hopefully want to remain a part of what appears to be a really close squad. Then the hard job of attracting quality additions, particularly down the spine, will begin.
sphericalfox Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 I do hope that the printer in Top's office is in overdrive today. Time to seal the necessary deals methinks.
