MattyFromLE Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 We've had an awesome season so far, fair to say that the boys have proven a lot of people wrong. But, and I suppose it's hard to say with the job currently unfinished... We talk about the 96 winning team, and the MoN era - will we be telling our kids ( I'm 26 by the way ) about when some flamboyant French lad ended our 30 odd year wait to beat Forest? Will we be telling them that Drinkwater and Jamo were instrumental in putting together our longest winning streak? Will we be telling them how Vardy and Nugent proved small sections of our supporters wrong to help us to promotion after an 11 year absence from the BPL? We've had to face a lot of half arsed players, false hope and tragic defeats in important games. But the current team just epitomise why I love the club - I feel a similar way about them, as I did the MoN era - do they have the potential to better the MoN era?
veezeeblue Posted 31 March 2014 Posted 31 March 2014 I believe we can, especially with backing of owners like we have now, we have to better 4 top 10 premier finishes We can do it !. We should dream of greatness, not just survival why not? I certainly do !
Dan Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I think we can, but English football has changed since then and it won't be as easy to stick with a load of these players now. It's just the nature of the modern game, sadly.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Saturday reminded me of the 1993-94 team at Wembley. Not because of the way we played, but just because it was sunny, we were playing all in blue and there was a load of tickertape on the pitch.
Monk Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 will we be telling our kids ( I'm 26 by the way ) about when some flamboyant French lad ended our 30 odd year wait to beat Forest? Doubtless many Frank Rolling fans feel the same way
