Linux/ubuntu, the pros and cons.

I'm thinking of getting a new desktop and obviously it's cheaper without windows. Is ubuntu any good? Is it compatible with other programmes? Will I still be able to stream the football on it?

It's compatible with all the normal browsers and what not, just the programs are a bit different and that's about it.

It's good and very stable. However you do have to know what you're doing, not being an "expert" as such but it is sort of 'advanced' in terms of set up and maintenance.

 

Played about a lot on Linux, as well as other OS, and although I'm not a massive massive fan of Microsoft I still use their OS because it's generally simple.
