Do things REALLY need to change very much?

[Merchant_Banker]

I think our first 11 is good enough to keep us up if they could play 90+ minutes of every league game, but they can't. We have some players who 'could do a job' off the bench, but I still think we are short on quality in depth. Anyone who comes in should be able to challenge for a starting place, rather than just bringing in players to make up the numbers.

First 11, give them a go they have earned it: -

Schmeichel

de Laet
Morgan
Wasilewski
Schlupp

Knockaert
James
Drinkwater
Mahrez

Nugent
Vardy

Could do a job: -

King
Konchesky
Hammond
Dyer (Deserves it for that goal!)
Moore (I would actually prefer him to Wasilewski, I think he is less likely to get sent off)
Wood

Logan (3rd choice keeper?)

I don't think GTF will get a chance and we might keep Philips in a coaching role. That is 18 players and assuming we will have a squad of 22 to 25 plus youth players then we need 4 - 7 players: -

Second choice keeper, maybe an older keeper willing to sit on the bench, but god enough for a couple of games, Schwarzer type.

2nd right back

4th centre back

Defensive midfield

4th striker

Makes 22, then possibly: -

Right footed winger

Creative midfielder

5th striker

No idea who we would sign, but willing to bet that Pearson and Shakespeare have already made a list.
