Andy King Power Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I keep hearing this one. Our opposition was only on a low gear. If they shifted a gear, they would’ve belted us, but instead chose to close the game. So apparently teams would rather claim three against us then to belt us for their GD. Nothing to do with the fact they would belt Sunderland 8-0, or QPR 4-0… twice, or Everton 6-3, Newcastle 4-0 and 4-1, Or even Burnley 4-0, or Aston Villa for many a 3-0. Oh no, with Leicester, save your energy, and win by 1, or maybe 2. So Man City, a team that won the title on goal difference, would choose to just win 1-0 over us... West Ham would prefer to shut up shop rather than build a safety net. Heck, Tottenham, with a GD of -1, would rather close us out in the first minute of the game. Am I missing something here? So Man City would rather win 1-0 away to us, going on first gear, only to belt Crystal Palace and West Brom by 3 goals? Yeah, alright. Tough fixtures is one thing, but it doesn’t make sense when they belt others by more. It just seems to me that we’re losing matches due to silly errors, I think I’ve seen more silly error goals then I have actual proper quality finishes (In fact, in the last three games, all but one were errors). We’re not doing ourselves any favours by not scoring, but gee whiz… a little accountability would be nice. It’s frustrating. You think you’re going somewhere, and then… failed back pass, slight slip, lack of concentration (What was that free kick? Seriously?) We’re respectable in our performances. Certainly not the worst bottom side in league history. Heck, for all those there that say we have the worst defense, QPR have conceded more. Villa has scored less, and they have double our points. Just… well, time to convert the good performances. No good being great for 89 minutes, and lose it at the end. These last three games have been quite frustrating in that regard. We know we are capable of so much more, and after 10 years out, it just hurts that much more, especially with Burnley and QPR on more points. Would we be more accepting if we were the ones that got promoted in the playoffs? I can only hope that we play like that against Hull, only with a little more polish and accountability. There’s no question that this is the big 3 we need, now that we’re 6 away from 17th. Let’s get to the window, give reason to believe that we will do well in the 2nd half of the season for any prospects, and get to 17th. I know we seem to be a very reactionary lot, but we're not as bad as we think we are. We can do some brilliant things, it is there. We just need some polish, a touch of class, and a little bit of confidence. We have an excellent run home, playing against those that will be down there, a good chance to carve our path. Heck, last season, Crystal Palace and Sunderland got out of the hole. In this league, momentum is a powerful weapon, Newcastle and West Ham have recovered nicely enough this season. i've already accepted the idea of Pearson being in charge for the full season, give him a transfer window to get things right. Back him for the Championship rebound. I've seen this before twice. No matter how grim, he will get us there. If this is '95, then hopefully '97 will happen with the next shot. To that one guy that suggested that we should rid of him if we're bottom after 10 games in the Championship? That's what it will take to get rid of him (I don't think we're going to be in that position though). We've already had that circus before. Not fit for the Premier League? We all have to start somewhere. Dyche's higher up? Don't count your chickens, wait until May. We\re not as crap as we all think we are, and that's just what makes it all the more frustrating. No matter, we've got 20 games left to secure safety, one moment you're down, unable to get a point... the next you're flying, and nothing seems to stop us. Foxes never quit, I'm certainly not.
Harry - LCFC Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 It's fvcking bollocks. Spurs didn't choose to stop playing, we stopped them from playing. Just a case of people making things up so they can attack the team more.
foxsake123 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Spurs have always played an attacking style of football. Very cavalier. Suited us well cos we too like to play like that.albeit without the talent to do so.
gazzer Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 not sure about today but you can't deny Man C took a very measured approach to their recent fixture at the King Power after a tough Champions League fixture leading some on here to claim we matched them when we didn't have a shot on target...
gazzer Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Fuck off. Spurs were clinging on. who is that profanity directed at? doesn't seem to match any of the comments in the thread.
