Leeds Fox Posted 17 February 2015 Posted 17 February 2015 If dying is a victory for them, and it irradicates any future threat from them or stemming from them, then so be it. Also, one of my mates was inside for a while, and he had a tv, radio and a toastie maker in his room. I mean come on, a bloody toastie machine! These extremists are treated like hero's by some in prison, and many turn to or step up their extremism as a result of these animals being inprisoned alongside them.
Stadt Posted 17 February 2015 Posted 17 February 2015 Is it against a person's human rights to have them locked up in solitary confinement for the rest of their lives?
Rincewind Posted 17 February 2015 Posted 17 February 2015 I know someone who has worked within the prison reform sector. He has also done time. In fact it was while he was inside that he started a magazine. He decided one day that he needed to sort himself out and not return. He enrolled for any course that he could and helped other prisoners who needed help. Did you know that there is a two year waiting list for some education courses? Not much good for a youth ho has been given 18 months. Some prisons may be better than others but those 'toasties' TV's etc. have to be earned by good behavior. These would be the lowest category prisoners that would be allowed these things and they will not mix with terrorists or murderers.

If they're out before they get the chance to do the courses, they could do them on the outside then surely? Being out of prison surely beats being on a waiting list for these course? And yeah, they get them on good behaviour, but they won't expect these luxuries after misbehaving, in prison! Regardless, prison is a breeding ground for extremism, and putting a terrorist in a place with young impressionable men, who already have strong 'religious' beliefs, who already have a problem with authority, is absolutely crazy!
ADK Posted 17 February 2015 Posted 17 February 2015 I get the impression Prison is like most public services, under funded and badly run. Scandinavia probably has the best prison system.
