Rudkin clearly has leverage over Top/KP and the price he’s likely already named for an exit isn’t realistic (extremely common in boardrooms across the land). taking our emotions away from our relationship with the club, as an employee, would you quit your lucrative role voluntarily even if you were having a tough time and your performance wasn’t the best? I wouldn’t. Need to remember the relationship these people have whilst externally is “I’m here and work for the love of the club”. In reality it’s about earning money and building their careers in the same non-emotional way we all do day to day.
