JulioArca Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 Hi I know alot of you are very upset with the Sunderland fans for what occured during the minutes silence on Saturday so i just thought i would give you my take on what happened as i was in the Sunderland end, the problem came about due to a lack of any tannoy announcment regarding a silence being made to Sunderland fans entering the ground late on, so when they were coming up the stairs to take there seats they were singing and making noise like any sets of fans do prior to a kick off, the noises that were being made were not by Sunderland fans already seated who knew what was going on but by fans trying to take there seas who were clueless, it also did not help that were i was sitting there was only one entrance for a lot of fans to use to get to there seats thus meaning alot of fans were waiting on the stairs trying to get to there seats, i would like to think that you honestly dont believe any Sunderland fan who knew about a minutes silence would purposely disrespect it and sing songs through the duration of it cos it simply would not happen, anyway best of luck for the rest of the season
Jonesy_rules Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 Still no excuse for them shouting at us to f**k off when we told them to shut up!Disrespectful, and out of order! out of interest is there an email address for the club?

Jonesy_rules Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 "FRIENDLY BANTER" and booing, chanting, etc during it was no way to behave! EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THE CLUB????????
Robsdee Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 Sorry I don't accept that explaination. I'm sure you wouldn't mean any disrespect, but I sit in L1 next to the awayers and the noise was coming from fans already seated. No excuse - why do you think the players were in a circle prior to KO? also everyone must have been aware that it was Rememberence Weekend (thought the British Legion selling poppies may have given it away) Added to that one of our great legends Keith Weller had died after a 2 year battle with cancer, disgusted at the disrespect shown by the minority of Sunderland fans
JulioArca Posted 15 November 2004 Author Posted 15 November 2004 "FRIENDLY BANTER" and booing, chanting, etc during it was no way to behave!EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THE CLUB???????? 36115 Being called a Geordie to a Sunderland fan is by no way taken as "friendly banter" as i said before the peopel who made noise did not know about any minutes silence due to your PA system not informing them Email
Jonesy_rules Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 is that an email address direct to the club? as it seems more like an url! read the post above your last one! Your excuses mean nothing! So what if it's not friendly for you, it's the same as calling one of us a forrest or sheep fan! You take it as friendly banter, not BOO the minute silence!
Oli Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 What aload of balls that is, I sat in L1 and the noise was coming from the fans already seated. Thats why we called you geordie bastards!

What do you expect i'm a Newcastle fan. Edited by a moderator after a truely disgusting post.
Jonesy_rules Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 you sick #### bastard! Dunno whether you think it's clever to say that or not! The minutes silence wasn't just for KEITH WELLER! Geordie SCUM
Guest Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 Sorry I don't accept that explaination. We sit in F1, and there weren't that many fans trying to get to their seats. The ones already in their seats with their arms in the air once the noise started suggest to me you cannot blame the latecomers entirely.
Oli Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 Geordie bastard! Small town in Scotland Your just a Small town in Scotland.
Samu Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 I couldn't make the game so I may be completely wrong. But from what Ive heard and from listening to the match on LCFC World, the issue which concerns me is why the Sunderland fans continued to make noise during the silence. I accept that some fans may not have heard the initial announcement but after they had seen the players lined up and the rest of the crowd silent surely the fans should have realised there was a minutes silence. From the radio it seemed that the noise continued throughout the silence which quite frankly baffles me?
Collymore Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 What aload of balls that is, I sat in L1 and the noise was coming from the fans already seated. Thats why we called you geordie bastards! 36120 Actually who am i trying to kid, i could not give two ****s i was only joining in the minutes silence cos i thought Paul Weller had died, cheers for the 3 points 36121 You are the sub human scum of universe. I have visited Sunderland and don't blame for you being a bit slow and retarded. Its funny how you have to hide behind a message board. Try saying that to a leicester fan face to face and see what happens.
Scow Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 Sickening. That really isn't a good enough explanation/reason/excuse for appalling behaviour by some of your fans. It wasn't just the initial chanting, it did go temporarily quiet after the realisation that there was a minute's silence taking place, but then they started up again. That's the issue here.
kerryh Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 To be fair - this Sunderland fan has come on apologising on behalf of decent fans I think he should be welcomed and thanked. The way that some Leicester fans responded to this was also unnecessary, to shout obscenities back is surely just as bad?

If you read a quote with it on then you'll realise how offensive this retard is.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 I've been told by another Sunderland supporter that this is a regular event. They sang throughout a minutes silence for John Charles, not sure if that one's true as I don't think that they would've been playing Leeds then unless it was at Cardiff, and some also sang during Bob Stoekoe's minute silence ffs. Don't know if these are true but that's what I've been told.
Muz Posted 15 November 2004 Posted 15 November 2004 As bad as the Wales fans at Old Trafford i was thier and there was some trouble after the game mainy because the Sheep started Sining We hate England and we Hate England throughout the minute silence
