Lester LXXIV Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 ....I just couldn't help but PMSL at this.... Hendrie Crocked!
davieG Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 This is the downside to signing these players Fowler went off injured in his first game! From CC OS"Robbie hasn't had the pre-season preparation and he'll play when he's ready," said Cardiff boss Dave Jones. "He's not far off, but playing him when he's not right will damage him and bring nothing to the team. We all know I haven't got enough firepower, I'm looking around but the problem is the prices being asked." From SU OSHendrie Shocker Posted on: Thu 16 Aug 2007 Bryan Robson has been dealt another major injury blow just days after losing Gary Naysmith with a knee ligament injury against Chesterfield. Naysmith has been virtually ruled out for the Vicarage Road clash, but another new signing, midfielder, Lee Hendrie, has undergone a knee cartilage operation. Robson revealed: "Lee had his operation on Thursday morning and is going to be out for six to eight weeks, which is a bit of a blow." The former Villa man played against Colchester in the opening league encounter having been given a 'mini pre-season' to help catch up with he rest of the squad in terms of fitness - he had been training on his own after leaving the Midlands club. But it wasn't all bad news for the Gaffer who was able to report that skipper Chris Morgan had overcome the calf strain that had sidelined him, and he is set to be included in Saturday's squad that travels to Watford: "It's good news that 'Morgs' is back in the squad - we've missed his leadership qualities - but Naysmith tweaked his knee and he's probably going to be out for two weeks." Rumour is that this is an old Hendrie injury

Mort Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 ...I dont mean to sound harsh but HA! On the subject of Fowler, Cardiff dont need to worry they've got the goal machine that is Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink and his "trying to get fit" training regime... their as good as promoted now!
Lester LXXIV Posted 17 August 2007 Author Posted 17 August 2007 Have done Now we can all laugh together!!  Some of the Doom Mongers on here should read this thread, might cheer them up a bit!
Joe. Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007  2 months is a long time out. And then he's got to get his fitness back. Ha.
lookwhaticando Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 So Hendrie's going to be about as useful to them as Gareth Williams was to us in 06/07... and a bit more expensive to boot.
Geo V Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 And good old Matt Holland, another one linked to us is out for at least 6 weeks.... http://icsouthlondon.icnetwork.co.uk/0200s...-name_page.html
DB11 Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 All these players being linked and not signing are getting injured. Conspiracy theories anyone?
Trumpet Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 Well that saved us about £100k on wages for Fowler and Hendrie, not including treatment costs of course
MC Prussian Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 It might sound harsh, but could it be that those players knew about potential injuries or damaged health beforehand, withholding that knowledge whilst getting a new contract at a new club so that they're having the new club pay for the recovery and/or OP.

It could also be that once you hit 30 you are more liable to get injured, just ask our Carl Cort
