bluefox9er Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 that agonising night when depending on which news source you were privvy to ( and this was pre internet/email/cell phone days) , must have been either 1981 or 1982 when Jock Wallace was on the *verge* of signing Dutch legend Johan Cryuff....I rember vividly Gary Newbond looking stunned and utterly shaking as he read the story on Central News warp speed 30 years or so and Edgar Davids trots onto the turf at the walkers stadium..( i hate calling it that!!! if it was filbo. i'd have been tempted to add ' hallowed' before turf..)
