Ricey Posted 13 June 2005 Posted 13 June 2005 Firstly here are the rules for this competition: 1 - All entries must be uploaded to the internet ( http://www.imageshack.us is good way to do this) and the link to the image sent to me via a Private Message before the deadline. DO NOT POST THEM ON FORUM. 2 - All deadlines will be 7 days after the task has been set and will end at 9:00pm on that day. 3 - Only one entry per user per round. 4 - Graphic must be your own work, obviously you can use images and fonts not created by you but the design and production of the graphic must be entirely from you. 5 - You may use any program you like to create the graphics. 6 - Images must be sent to me in JPG, GIF or PNG format (only PNG if the size of the graphic is small) 7 - When the deadline is up a new thread will be created for people to post who they think should win. The voting will be open for a further 7 days when the winner will be decided. Round One Your task for round one is to create an advert for your favourite computer game. If you don't have a favourite computer game choose a game that you think you can make the best graphics for. The advert should be eyecatching but still show the main features of the game, remember this is an advert so the idea is to make people want to but the game. The graphic must be 500x700 pixels in size. Deadline for entries is 20th June at 9pm. Enjoy.

I think it may be a good idea for these to be sticky in the future? B) *Idea* - How about a forum for Competitions? (Prediction League, Fantasty Football, Graphics Competition etc.) It would just mean changing the title of the Prediction League forum already in place........ This would keep them seperate from "General Chat", seeing as it isnt just General Chat.....

However tbe problem with that one is that a lotr of people might not view this Competitions forum and the comps might suffer because of that.

The problem with it at the minute is that some people (e.g. Leicester_Mad) don't notice the Graphics Competition. If it was mentioned on the main forum page, people may see it? Is the judging going to be as a poll?

I've gone with your suggestion that entries are just namned by a letter not by the person that did them so it's not a popularity contest.

If you really wanted to get technical, you could issue 5 points for coming first, 4 points for second etc until you get 1 point for finishing 5th......and have a mini league. This could encourage people who aren't so good? Its up to you entirely..........
