Exactly, and that's my point. Change for the sake of change!!
-
My point is that many, outside of London and the South East and particularly in the North have complained at every touch and turn that there has been no so-called levelling up. I can't see the point of dropping a phrase just for the sake of it when then are far for important things to do.
-
That remains to be seen.
-
But I thought people, particularly in the North, had been crying out for this for years.
-
I see the new Labour Government are going to drop the "levelling up" phrase. In the grand scheme of things does this really matter as a great number of folk will continue to believe they have been left behind in society.
-
It's alright for some then. As for Hodge, I thought Labour wanted abolish the House of Lords not so long back. Now they appear to be stuffing them in just like the Tories.
-
Mate, if you think the "working class" i.e. the ordinary people of this country are not going to be taxed further you are in for a rude awakening.
-
All sounds very nice but what do you mean by a "robustly functional tax system"?
-
Ah, the magic of the money trees. I'm afraid taxing 'Joe Public' is inevitable.

Concerns about the direction of the club
David Hankey replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
We're back in the top flight again. My only hope is that we don't repeat the performances of the 2022/23 season. -
I agree, all unsavoury.

Nothing to do with allowing pornographic films entered on her parliamentary expenses and commentators stating she was "completely out of her depth" and "unsuitable" as Home Secretary". Considering Starmer now has over 400 MPs at his disposal his decision to rely on a former discredited politicians must come into question.
-
For an outfit, Labour, who wanted to abolish the Upper Chamber not so long ago have today announced the discredited Jacqui Smith a life peerage so she can re-enter the Government. She has been an MP for decades after the allowances and expenses scandal. I thought we wanted to get away from all the sleaze that has surrounded Parliament.

No, a point either you don't want to see nor understand. Now I can't help any more so I suggest you trawl back to my original post and read it.
-
Ah well, that's your misfortune.
-
I'm not going to reiterate my point again. All you have to do is look at my original post on this topic, that's all and that will explain everything.

Too little too late. Southgate reactive not proactive, time to go. -
So, you admit there was a note? Well done!!
-
The fact is that if politicians kept their gobs shut and just got on with job there would be nothing to "bang" on about,

This game has got 4-0 written all over it. -
Delusional? I was merely quoting what Reeves has said and comparing it to the note Byrne left in 2010. Sounds as though you're too young to remember.

Today is the day when the cream of England players need to step up to the plate and deliver. No excuses. -
And that's my point. At least Labour have been left some rather than the cupboard is bare.
-
Oh dear, I see Reeves, the new Chancellor, is already saying "there's not a huge amount of money there" and that's in her first day in Office!!
