It would be ideal if we could exert some kind of leverage over Chinese governance of Hong Kong.
It would be ideal if we stayed out of world affairs in the first place. We might have some money then.

Well this is almost certainly complete bollocks. Whatever the shortcomings of the submersible, I'm sure the window was designed for the depth and the fact it had completed previous voyages to the wreck would seem to back this up.
The window was designed for 1800 metres, the depth was 4000 metres, it was controlled by a Logitech games controller and had a caravan light in it, the company didn’t do any crack testing (ndt) on the vessel but relied on pressure sensors, because it was used in international waters there were no controls over its safety. It’s looking more likely a tragic accident caused by over confidence.

It has crossed my mind that he is spreading false information. If the stuff he is saying was true you'd think there would be some repercussions.
Bit like Boris then.

The sub lost contact an hour and three/quarters into its dive which meant it hadn't reached the titanic, apparently the banging wasn't banging but just noise, and considering the veiwing window was only safe to 1800 metres and the story of one of the directors being sacked after a meeting that involved quality/ integrity checks and tests being refused, i get the feeling that something catastrophic has happened on it's descent.

The problem then becomes pressurisation. No point in bringing the thing up if everyone then turns inside out upon opening it.
Is that a problem with a submersible?

Even if they locate the sub at the bottom of the ocean, is there any actual way of rescuing the passengers (assuming they are still alive)?
The only way is to lift it up which, apparently, is not that difficult to do.

The BBC live feed is reporting on ‘banging sounds’ being picked up in the area the sub disappeared…
Bet it’s the sub bumping into the titanic, they’ve only got a plastic PlayStation controller and I doubt you’d hear that from 12000 feet away.

Disappointing but a really entertaining test
It was, but I think both sides are lacking, players are getting past it.

Anyone know the West Brom equivalent of foxestalk? I'd like to get some Baggies input on this stuff but I can't find a site that looks anything like as active as this one.

I see Spurs have apparently made a joint offer for Barnes and Maddison way below our valuation. This time we may have to compromise or risk Spurs or Newcastle walking away and leaving us with two unhappy players and limited funds for our own targets. My estimation is we need £60 million to start a rebuild with decent players . This time last year , we could reasonably have asked for £90 million for the pair but £70 million is more likely now.
If it’s a joint offer, couldn’t we sell Barnes for 65 million for Barnes and 5 million for Maddison to reduce the Norwich sell on percentage.

C'mon. Yet one more self-gratifying vendetta against a bloke who's obviously not that bad a keeper. No-one gets to second-string at a Premier Club and plays for his country without having ability.
This is the worst of social media on the Internet. You can bad mouth anyone with no comeback and enjoy doing it with all yer like minded mates. It might be amusing but it's not funny.
Scot Carson just won a champions league medal with one of the worlds biggest clubs. Sometimes you get lucky

Patience will be the key, no matter what. Something of a scarce commodity these days. Although we showed uncanny patience to Rodgers.
I think that was more to do with not being able to afford to get rid of him which i also think has been the problem for the whole club for a while. We've been working to an unsustainable level regarding wages which was only ever going to increase.
