You've made a very valid point there.

The difference now is that news can be transmitted globally in such a short space of time, most children are found with 24 hours. Having a daughter myself that has only just turned 4, it chokes me to watch it. Everytime I see/hear about her I can feel my eyes start to water. If the facts are correct her parents have made a mistake. All that matters now though is that Madeleine is returned to them, alive. Any charges they'll face for neglect purely pails into insignificance compared to the torment that they have had to live with for over a week now. The longer it goes without any signs of information, the more you start to think, thet they'll never find here.

Have you run the trouble shooter? It runs through the log on process step by step?

It could be numerous things really, try running windows help and bash in internet connection and it'll run you through the fairly standard stuff. Just out of interest who do you have you internet connection with? Please don't tell me its Orange

Does your internet disconnect on a regular basis?

Slightly on/off topic. I once had a guy ring me on a Monday morning to tell me he couldn't get his PC working. He said "every time I turn it on it says windows is now safe to turn off your PC". As I struggeled to hold back the laughter when I realised that what he was doing was infact turning his monitor on and off.

Have you tried sourcing newer drivers? Could be incompatiabilty with other hardware or it could just be buggered.

Are you wireless connected?

It also depends upon where your bios settings are pointing to in terms of the boot up stage. You can switch them around so your hard drive bots before the floppy drive & CD drive.

Has it got an old 3.5" floppy drive? If it has eject the disk. That normally does the trick.
