Carranza looks absolutely average like we were warned. Vestergaard and Faes are very good players at this level. If we’d have gone and purchased replacements for them, we wouldn’t have 3/4 of the player of those two. They’ve frustrated me in the Premier League, however we aren’t playing at that level. I’d play Ricardo in every game, however realistically he won’t do a 46 game season, he needs managing. Nelson is an interesting one, as I’d suggested he maybe needed a loan if he wasn’t going to play this season. Unfortunately Okoli would Struggle to pass a cold 6 yards at times and whilst I’ve been frustrated with our tactically setup at times, I can see what we are trying to do, albeit it’s too slow. Bizarrely I think the midfield three is the issue. Winks addresses some of that, we need another player like him in a way that can drive the ball forward out of tight spaces and break the press.

Daka needs to earn his salt here. He’s been gifted a chance and this is how a golden chance to basically claim the shirt and make himself updropable. He’s got all the attribute and needs to find that Salzburg finishing that made him one of the hottest prospects in Europe.
