Pearson’s job wasn’t to find talent. Steve Walsh’s was. You’ve highlighted it. Agree Pearson gets an average side playing well, but to have him in a director’s role is bonkers. He’d upset far too many people he would have to pretend to like. It’s a different level off the pitch and upstairs with board members and away from the players. He’s not suited to that type of role.
-
Yeah I can see it now…Enzo asks for a ball playing midfielder who can challenge Winks for a starting place. We end up resigning Marty James 🙄 Never understood the Pearson obsession that some of our fans have. Let’s all move on now he’s left another job shall we.

Championship Starting XI - First Game Of The Season
Izzet is God replied to a topic in Leicester City Forum
Discussed this a few weeks ago and generally think it’ll be: Iverson Ricky P/Justin Faes Souttar Thomas/Kristensen Choudhury KDH Soumare (unless he goes back to France) as he’s on a lengthy contract Daka Vardy And either Praet or Nacho. More likely Nacho as I imagine Praet to go abroad and no one coming in for Nacho. Maddison, Barnes, Tielemans, Tete, Mendy, Castagne and Ndidi all to go in the summer -
Ten games to go, which players are going to step up ?
Izzet is God replied to marcymarc666's topic in Leicester City Forum
Suspect only those that think of remaining here post summer will give a s**t about trying to stay up or not. Suspect that will be Ricardo, KDH, Soutter, Faes and perhaps Vardy (if he’s playing). Can’t see Maddison and Barnes up for a relegation dog fight when Newcastle were interested in them this season. They know they will get a move. Same goes for Tete as he’ll get interest across other European leagues I reckon. More interested to see how Castagne, Praet and Ndidi perform now Rodgers has gone. -

Never seen a manger divide a club’s fan base so much. He’s done exactly what he’s done at other clubs. Take over a largely good squad and get a good season/18 months out of them. I thank him for the FA Cup but I’ll damn him for ripping the foundations we’ve laid over the last 9/10 years to be a side that the top 6 thought would upset them. He’s completely drained us in anything positive whilst continuing to make excuses like he wasn’t backed. Bought absolute dross players in and made baffling decisions that only he knows why he did it? Couldn’t solve our set piece defensive issue for over 9 months. Failed to secure a top 4 position in 20/21 by 1 point by not winning 2 out of the last 5 games of the season, with one of those game being Southampton away who spent 80 mins of the game with 10 men. Did the same pretty much the season prior (19/20) by not being able to get results towards the end of the season against the likes of Norwich, Watford and Bournemouth. Look at where we are now. We’re miles away from what he inherited. I’m not going to deny he’s been one our most successful managers but that’s purely because he’s been the manager of us at a time when we’ve been able to give such a title away. The guy is not an ‘elite manager’ that the press make him out to be. He’s a fairly decent manager for a 2 year stint, which he’s proved at the majority of clubs he’s been at. The fact that we’ve trusted him to lay a solid tenure and take us to ‘the next level’ and we are now fighting for Prem survival is downright criminal. He’s taken the soul out of LCFC and that I cannot ever forgive him for. -

Worse teams than us? We’ve just lost (again this season) to the team that were bottom for the majority of it. We’re in free-fall. The players and Rodgers seem to have had this mentality for weeks as well. ‘We’ll be ok, we’re good enough based on previous seasons, there’s a long way to go…etc’ We’ve not had a shot on target in 180 minutes of football. We are down if BR remains at our club.
-
New club, new country, new league (arguably the best in the world) with better defenders. Can’t speak a word of English. But, yeah he’s shite after 3 games he’s not had a blinder. With 2 of those being against Man U and Arsenal. 😂😂😂 Got to love LCFC optimism! 🙄

Best one for me was when Jorginho went down with an apparent head injury. Wasted at least 2/3 minutes. Then once back up, Saliba congratulates him by smacking him on the head four or fives times 😂

It’s not solely up to UFS to create an atmosphere. Whatever way you look at it, players not closing opposition down at home and having 1 shot on goal in 90 minutes is hardly going to get anyone to strongly ‘get behind the lads’. We were awful yesterday both on the pitch and in the stands. The game itself wasn’t exactly a master display to watch. I don’t get the need for sub supporter groups like UFS but I don’t have any issue with them trying to improve things and promoting themselves to others who maybe interested. I hear they’re self funded and also found out that they decided to protest yesterday due to they way some of their members were treated at the Spurs game. My only thought on that would be that why the need to protest over 2 members disregarding what LCFC stewards believed to be behaviour that wasn’t warranted? What is this going to achieve? Not really sure the club give a f*** that UFS didn’t sing yesterday because of that?

Stolen the Suarez song off the bin dippers but: We’ve signed a lad called Tete, he’s Brazilian born and bred. I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough. When he scores a volley or when he scores a head. I just cant get enough, I just can't get enough. He’ll score a goal and we’ll all go wild, And I just can't seem to get enough of… Do-do-do-do-do-do-do Do-do-do-do-do-do-do Do-do-do-do-do-do-do That boy Tete!!!

Newcastle 2-0 LCFC - Post Match Thread

Thought the Mendy sub made the world of difference -
I’m not saying I think he’s a bad manager, I just think he has faults which he is reluctant to work on and doesn’t take accountability for his decisions most times. This is why I think he won’t ever be a top coach in the game. Look at last season. How long did it take for him to even consider addressing the set pieces issues, regardless of our injuries. It was farcical. Same as when he was at Liverpool with their title run and the famous Slippy G incident. The reason they lost the title was his inability to play for a draw that game against Chelsea and hold onto a 3-0 lead at Palace. Sounds familiar to when we couldn’t hold onto 4th? I think the call for him to be sacked is a bit extreme. Yes we’ve been dire so far but we’re 3 games in with obvious background issues going on distracting the club. In all honesty, I think he’s done a good job for us in his tenure and can continue to do so if he’s backed. Hardly his fault that the board have decided to implement expenditure on the training ground, stadium expansion and player bonus after league and cup wins etc.

Agree although Rodgers has always had the inability to make an effective tactical change. I’ve always said it and so did Liverpool fans. He has no plan B. Whoever sanctioned the deals to give average players a great wage really needs to be held accountable also. Rudkin and Whelan can’t be completely innocent in this. Our situation is becoming quite clear for all to see. We obviously can’t do anything because our senior squad are earning too much. We have to ship out and rebuild but no one is willing to match the ridiculous wages we pay. Rodgers is frustrated he can’t bring anyone in but doesn’t want to see the likes of fofana and Maddison go, as it’s a step backwards in terms of where we want to be. Meanwhile Rodgers continuously frustrates everyone else by making decisions like dropping Cags and just not playing Praet at all! Then to top things off will come out at the post match interview and try to justify his inability to do anything productive with a deflective statement. Hopefully the end of the transfer window will stabilise things and we’ll be able to focus on picking up results more.

Fair enough. Shows that West Ham didn’t think he was worth 80k a week though.
-
Exactly this….we’ve needed this type of player since we lost Morgan. Unfortunately it’s not a Brendan type of player. He’s even managed to get rid of Hamza’s ability to dive in to challenges and show a bit toughness.

Lingaard to Florist is actually a ‘makes sense’ deal for both parties. West Ham wouldn’t have paid him what Florist are, and with the one year deal, they can cut their ties with him if he makes no impact for them this season. Let’s be honest, he’s not that good a player. He’s not a match winner on his own and I generally think he didn’t get many offers from other Prem teams. If he was so wanted, why did no one go for him in January.

SIlva and James both got 4’s for me (and I don’t like James). Difference being James had 90 mins of being a 4, silva got subbed... James offers us nothing in terms of creativity. How he plays ahead of Iborra and silva is a mystery... -

The defence all round last night was poor for conceding 4, but Maguire look the most solid of the lot. Bearing in mind he was the least experienced in that back 4. Morgan and Fuchs both poor yesterday for me. When you have two players either side of you having shite games it's going to have an effect. Shakey made the wrong changes at crucial times last night. Which might have showed some inexperience on his part but the performance was positive overall. If we can sort out that halfs last 45-50 minutes and not 35-44 then we'll be fine. We lacked concentration when it was most needed and if our defence keep doing that we'll suffer for it. -
There shouldn't be a point. If the 'point' is that people are disheartened and feel we aren't pushing on from our success recently then they need to understand that we are not Chelsea in the early 00's or a modern day Man City. We are Leicester! If you generally can't see what we have achieved is a miracle that we probably never could have dreamed of producing, and furthermore are probably about where we should be in aiming to be a top 10 prem club this season. Then I for one, feel for you all that cannot live in reality and understand it takes years to establish any sort of top level success. As others have put, Rome wasn't built in a day. Or in our case, a season.

Most successful period in our history and people are moaning... Got to love some our fans.

Met Peter Shelton when I was a kid at a football tournament in Bournemouth - he was there for all of 5 minutes to present a trophy and refused to speak with anyone apart from the manager of the hotel the award was at and didn't sign any autographs for at least 25 kids waiting patiently for him... Met Muzzy at his book signing seemed alright but then again I was buying his book. Met Nuge night before Sunderland away in Newcastle in 2015 - he was having a few beers in Jesmond. Met Ian Wright and Kevin Campbell in a newsagents in Enfield back in there Arsenal days. Both very friendly blokes who were happy to chat anything football related. Met a few Ipswich players over the years, Titus Bramble was horrid and thought he was Pele but Fabian Wilnis was a legend.
