Who did i describe as an upcoming fighter? Andrade? Like to see where you got that from. "Step up and fight Golovkin", refers to him stepping up in weight, as we all know, well apparently not you, that GGG isn't a welterweight.
-
Why do you and @GaelicFox consider all Ecuadorian fighters to be 'elite' fighters? Andrade is touted as the next best thing at his weight, he was poor, really poor. He was hurt in the 12th by a guy who doesn't have any power.
-
If that is the opinion of most who watched....why am i being criticized? Did he look out of shape? Yes, he was blowing hard very early.....especially compared to his fight with GGG. Was it KO of the year so far? I've not seen a more vicious KO thus far.
-
Demetrius Andrade. Unreal that some were touting him to move up and test GGG. Unreal KO by Lemieux though. Looked out of shape until he landed what was in my opinion the KO of the year so far......Shows just why GGG decided to 'outbox' him rather than go to war with him, given the power he's got.

Surprise, surprise...another American hype job fails to impress in Europe.

Bellew is a bigger pay day than Wilder.....The fact that any talk of a potential Bellew v Wilder/Parker fight is pretty much nailed on to take place in the UK, may help you to understand this. Should we just ignore the fact that according to Hearn, this fought brought in the greatest of any British PPV in the past decade. So even though you consider yourself a bit of a boxing expert, it's strange that you're only waiting for the mainstream fights.
-
Didn't realise Haye fought Valuev a week ago..... I could go on and on about past fights i've watched tbh. Not a 'hardcore' boxing fan, but i've seen my fair share of Brits win/challenge for world titles, including Khan, Brook, Haye, Fury, Joshua etc. I find it amusing you claim that PPV results essentially 'don't matter'. If you're trying to claim that Bellew only attracted these high figures because of the reputation of Haye, it's irrelevant, because lets face it... 1) Bellew sold the fight better than Haye, and actually called Haye out. 2) Wilder would have earned more $$$ fighting Haye in the US, than any of his past opponents. The fact Haye would earn more £££ fighting Bellew in what was pretty much a 'catchweight' fight, for no title just domestic bragging rights than he would fighting Wilder in a world title fight, shows how bad Wilder's international rep is.
-
Why would i be here if i was watching the fight? Jesus man. Why would no fight between Bellew and Wilder prove me wrong? I said Bellew would want, and imo deserve, another big world title fight at Goodison.....not that it should happen. You believe Wilder has a bigger international reputation than Bellew? The ppv results from their last fights prove you wrong. Molina troubled Wilder's chin and Washington outboxed him, not the signs of a 'world class' fighter. Edit: Who is Deyonte Wilder? Reckon he has a chance against Anthone Joshua or Tysan Fury? How can a boxing expert like yourself not even know how to spell his name ffs?
-
I don't claim to be an expert in anything, but nor do i post anything from Wikipedia, i just give my opinion based on facts. Watch Wilder's last fight against Washington. Washington is a domestic level fighter and he was 'outboxing' Wilder and on my card, and many others, won virtually every single round. Joshua has half the fights that Wilder has had....yet he's fighting a guy in April who has more world championship fights than all of Wilder's opponents together and will be considered an ATG upon his retirement. As for Wilder having more 'international pulling power'...if that's the case: 1 - Why didn't Wilder fight Haye instead of Washington, would have earnt a lot more $$$$ and have in impressive name on his resume (For once) 2 - Why is Tyson fury's camp even contemplating a fight with Bellew? Wilder's international pulling power is dreadful . Bellew v Haye attracted more sales than any of Wilder's past fights.
-
'google knowledge'.... The fact you're defending Wilder, a guy who has been unwilling to fight any serious contender after 30+ fights, suggests to me that your boxing knowledge is fairly limited. Wilder must be the weakest world heavyweight champion in history with the amount of defences he has had. He hasn't fought a single guy who was 'world level' at the time of the fight or in the past.
-
For a man of his size though, his KO percentage, given his standard of opponent, is pretty poor.
-
Does Fury have the power to keep Joshua off him? Not sure. Joshua v Fury looks to me a bit like Haye (A fully fit and prime one) v Bellew. Only one winner. Joshua is younger, quicker and punches harder. Fury beat Wlad because he didn't throw a punch for 11 rounds.
-
Wilder has a better resume than Bellew? Name me a fighter on there who has a better resume than Haye, Didn't Bellew land a counter hook when backed onto the ropes in the first round? That would've sent Wilder to the mat, he's been dropped by jabs ffs.
-
Also for those with the 'Hearn is only attracting casuals' point of view. 1) Boxing has been dead in this country for so long, that there simply isn't enough 'hardcore' fans left to ensure top fights can be made, and made over here and not in the U.S. 2) GGG V Brook and Haye V Bellew were seen as 'one side demolition jobs' by most. Whilst Whyte v Chisora was just seen as a fight which wouldn't live up to the fight. Whyte v Chisora was one of the best heavyweight fights of the last decade, whilst Brook gave GGG his toughest fight and Bellew actually beat Haye. Hearn, whether you like the guy or not, is growing boxing again in this country, so he's doing something right.

Pretty sure Bellew made more last night, than Parker or Wilder have in any previous fights. As I said before, Bellew currently has a better resume at Heavyweight than Wilder. I'd give Bellew a better chance against Wilder, than Wilder against Joshua. Some of the shots landed by both Haye and Bellew the other night, would have floored Wilder.
-
Plus look at it from Bellew's point of view. Against Wilder or Parker, he gets another night at Goodison, probably the biggest payday of his career and a chance to become an all time great. A two-weight world champion...and a world heavyweight champion, which was 3 weights above his career debut . Surely there can't be many that have done that.
-
Also....in his first heavyweight fight, Bellew has fought a guy with a resume greater than all of Wilder's opponents combined.
-
Haye walked into that ring on two legs. As soon as he declared him 'completely and 100% fit' at the press conference, he had zero excuses. Haye became injured 'during the fight', he was swinging wildly because, quite simply, Bellew was 'outboxing' him. I don't think Bellew would beat Wilder....but he's deserved a shot. People wanted to see Haye v Joshua if Haye destroyed Bellew, so why can't Bellew face an inferior heavyweight in Wilder? In a packed goodison park, anything can happen. Wilder has great KO power, but jesus are him boxing skills way below world level, to be honest, his boxing skills are not too dissimilar to Dave Allen. If Bellew can avoid that big punch, he could win the fight.....i'd also add that Wilder has a very very suspect chin, and had he been caught like Bellew was last night, Wilder would've been on the canvas.
-
Nobody knows how far Bellew can actually go.....because quite simply, people are only judging him on his light heavyweight days, in which it is clear now, he never was. People on twitter laughing at Bellew (which he probably said as a joke initially) calling out Wilder, are probably the same ones who thought he would get 'destroyed' by Haye. Bellew's win last night has earnt the right for him to a massive fight at Goodison....maybe even Wembley if it's against Wilder. If Haye had won, people would have wanted to see him face Joshua, so I can't see a reason why Bellew shouldn't get a crack at Wilder, an inferior heavyweight to Joshua. As for the 'Haye injury' debate. He walked into the ring on two feet, knowing he was not 100%, and began swinging wildly, causing the injury to worsen. He couldn't get near Bellew for the first couple of rounds, and was actually looking slower than the bomber. Haye should've tried outboxing him, e.g. Valuev, but obviously wasn't confident with his stamina.

Drogba was signed for £24 million, and only scored 10 goals in a season where Chelsea won the league. Bale was signed for £7 million, and Spurs didn't win in his first 25 games. Vardy was signed for £1 million, and he didn't look good enough for the championship, nor the prem in his first season. So a champions league winner for Chelsea, one of the most expensive players in Real Madrid's history and the current PL record holder for scoring in consecutive games....none looked capable of achieving what they eventually did in their early days.
-
People need to remember that players need time to adapt to the league.....This season it's been twice as difficult because of our form. Kante and Ndidi are exceptions, not the norm.
-
If Haye is serious about wanting to become 'unified' world heavyweight champion, he doesn't fight Bellew. He has what? 5 fights left, maybe a few more. If he fights Bellew, it proves he's just returned for the $$$$. A fight with Bellew doesn't earn him any recognition at heavyweight.
-
And as for Dillian Whyte, if the other guy was in shape, I think he would've beat Whyte. As he says himself, he is a 'fighter'. He doesn't have the boxing ability/brain to get to world level. Basically a younger chisora. That's why the potential fight with chisora will be very interesting.
-
Whilst I agree that the Burns fight was closer, I only scored the first 2 and last 2 for Hatton's challenger. So the 116-112 were fair imo. Burns v Broner is just obviously a last pay day for Burns, a miraculous win would ensure 'another last pay day' though. As for Briggs getting near David Haye? He couldn't get near Lennox Lewis years ago, he hasn't got a chance of getting near a faster guy in Haye now. Wlad v Joshua is an interesting one. For me, if Wlad performs like he did against Fury, Joshua KOs him. Joshua v Wilder, for all the belts, at Wembley, is what I want next year.

Someone's taking the p**s here. The bloke has been around some of the best at Bayern.
