  1. I've heard nothing but negative reviews about yodel
  2. Watched haywire the other day. Instantly forgettable.
  3. Whenever I buy a good steak these days I've eaten half of it before I've even put it in the pan. There's something about the texture and flavour of a cold, raw steak that really turns me on in a culinary sense. If I could be sure it was healthy, I honestly don't think i'd have much of a problem just sitting and munching away at a dead cow.
  4. Really surprised by the emotion he showed there. I thought even the players knew that tennis is a bit of a pointless sport. Didn't realise anyone took it so seriously.
  5. Agree with all of that. The escape was a bit too easy as well. Though I'm not sure if that was intentional. I feel like a dramatic, unhappy ending would have left me with a wonderful, lingering uneasy void which may have made up for the lack of menace.
  6. Just watched Martha Marcy May Marlene, about a young woman who escapes from a cult. Pretty good movie, which nicely builds into what should have been a big crescendo but unfortunately the film makers seemed to run out of ideas and forgot about shooting a proper ending. Decent none the less, 7.25/10
  7. I remember reading betjeman in school I thought wow! So cool.......not You fool, we have hip hop, already Lesson plan good and ready Good wholesome tales with rhymes aplenty And guns aplenty, hoes aplenty Plenty of lessons on how to get twenty In jail I need an ale This poem has been one hell of a fail
  8. You could probably just about class Moon as sci-fi, though it's probably more psychological thriller. Great film, though.
  9. I think our roads are pretty good
  10. Men who take dancing seriously while claiming not to be gay. Dance seriously? What is that, morris dancing? I honestly have no idea how to dance seriously, and if I tried I can't imagine how ridiculous I would look.
  11. That's consumerism not capitalism. I'm not one for consumerism myself, but if other people want to prioritise buying an iphone over having time to look after their kids then that's their choice. The point is that when you said it is no longer possible to raise a family on a single wage you were wrong, all it takes is for people to prioritise appropriately. Also, 35-hour work week, France, failed miserably.
  12. I thought the lack of filter contributed a substantial amount to the increased risk of lung cancer etc? I think the main problem with cannabis is the ever increasing potency which is no doubt leading to increased mental problems. Don't really care if it's legalised or not. The way it is now is a pretty good balance the official illegal stance and the unnofficial 'we don't care as long as you don't cause us any problems' stance on the streets. But if I had a kid of potential smoking age I think I would rather see some controls implemented so he doesn't end up smoking some wild shit and going mental. It can be like drinking a pint of absynthe when all you wanted was a beer. No need to fully legalise and commit political suicide, but surely you can control it, make it safer.
  13. ...without flat screen TVs, iPhones, games consoles, foreign holidays, 2xcars in the garage, sushi, all the latest fashion and gadgets etc. and safe in the knowledge that the next generation would pay for their final salary pension schemes and generous state pension. It's always easier when you've got access to lots of free financial security and nothing else to spend your money on. How do you think people on benefits can afford to go to the pub numerous times per week? It's about priorities. 35-hour work week?
  14. Your constant references to me would be creepy if they weren't so damn erotic
  15. Had a mare with this. Made a hot but fairly stuck up female superior of mine at work call a local massage parlour (wink wink), but as I was entering her number into prankowl I must have accidentally hit call on my phone because when I looked back my phone it was calling her. I cancelled the call at the same time as prankowl started its call from the massage parlour. I panicked and closed the browser, so no idea of the conversation. All I know is that she will have received two calls in quick succession - one from me that I cancelled before speaking to her, and then a strange one from a massage parlour. This is going to be difficult to explain. She has called me back twice but I have been too afraid to answer
  16. "are ants classed as vegetables?"
  17. Are then any examples of movies that score <50% on rotten tomatoes or metacritic but which are actually good? I pretty much haven't watched a movie that scores less than 70% on RT for a good few years. The other day a colleague lent me some of his movies and they are all fking abysmal. Crappy tacky action movies like Killer Elite. 25% on RT, well justified, because it's absolute crap. Why would you watch a movie that scores so badly? It's like booking a 1-star hotel when you could have had a 5-star hotel for the same price.
  18. The Grey was pretty good. It's about a bunch of oil workers whose plane crashes in a snowy alaskan wilderness filled with angry wolves. Straddled the border between credible and tacky perhaps a few too many times and there were several things that didn't make a lot of sense, but overall it was a fairly strong movie. 7.2/10. Take Shelter was ok. It's about a family man who seems to be descending into a mental illness which manifests itself in bad dreams and a fear of a big storm. I enjoyed the freaky weirdness like I always do with those kind of movies but it lacked something, maybe a point, because it the end it never really went anywhere. 6.7/10.
  19. I thought it might be a bit too misogynistic, right wing, rapey & homophobic for you.
  20. You lie. Watched Moneyball last night. Good movie, even for non-baseball fans like everyone in the entire world. 8/10. Have The Grey and Take Shelter to watch tonight after the football. Both look promising.
