  1. Not me, but I remember someone trying to convince my Rashid Ghezzal was better than Mahrez based purely on the opinion of an Algerian he knew 😂. I never mention it…
  2. Yeah I’ve seen them a few times before but really got into them around the time Science Fiction was released, I still might end up going but massively conflicted.
  3. Turnstile are great live, I’m off to 2 of the MCR gigs as they are my favourite band and Brand New are another but really struggling to buy a ticket for that due to the allegations against the singer. SOAD will be class as well, Was tempted with them.
  4. I’ve just bought the ASICS Megablasts. I’ve currently got the superblasts which a few say are the best all round shoes around and the same people are saying these are better. Just been made redundant after nearly 20 years in a company so I’ve treated myself 😂 Re physical food, I used to take out dried mango but I get to a point where chewing food while running ends up being a pain so the gels are just convenient.
  5. I haven’t because my shoes are really cushioned and should do the job, problem is I’ve run about 400 miles in 3 months so I’d imagine they are on their way out. I know what you mean re running becoming expensive. I’ve just bought some new trainers that I’m hoping I can break in before next Saturday and recon I’ve easily spent £100 on energy gels in the last 2 months alone.
  6. Thanks mate I’ll give that a go. Just managed 5k on the treadmill with no issues after popping a couple of ibuprofen so hopefully it’ll be manageable.
  7. You can definitely make yourself more ill by exerting yourself when you are recovering from illness but I’ve got no idea how likely it is. A video of a Fran Kirby interview popped up on my social media this week and she talked about developing a heart problem as a result of doing exactly that. Again, clearly wont happen to anyone and I ran the Leicester half last year after being ill the week before and I’d 100% still be running if that happens again.
  8. Considered a physio but with the run being so close I wonder if the time frame means it’s not worth it before hand.
  9. First day of no knee pain when walking around so I thought I’d try a gentle jog on the treadmill… got .3km in before I could feel it so I stopped. Any tips on how to keep running with runners knee? Marathon is next Saturday. I’ve bought a knee support and will dose up on ibuprofen.
  10. Crazy time there mate. Iv never used the Novablasts but I bought Superblasts because everyone raved about them, and they’ve just brought out Megablasts which are meant to be even quicker. Both expensive at £200 a pop but I’ve done about 400 miles in mine and they are still alright.
  11. Shame we can’t bring Patsy Daka on.
  12. I just look at that list and can’t help but think teams like Boro were probably looking at similar 10/15 years ago and a few seasons mid table at this level means people just get fed up. I still think we’ve missed the boat for the extension.
  13. Some advert for running 😂
  14. You’ll smash it, the times you have mentioned on here are pretty impressive so just go out and do your thing.
  15. My left knee gave me a fair amount of gip on a 15 mile run and it’s not good at all tonight. Marathon 2 weeks tomorrow, gunna be popping ibuprofen like sweets I recon. Bit of a shame as my body has generally held up for the last 14 weeks.
  16. Yep, that was my whole 20 miles last week. I got my phone out at about 4 points to ask for a lift home and bottled it 😂. Which marathon you doing? Go to do 18 miles tomorrow and my legs are absolutely battered from leg day and football. It’s ****ing relentless and I’ve had enough
  17. I’d say if you are doing half’s already it’s probably about 8/10 weeks based on the logic that your training will take you up to 20 miles. Probably depends on what sort of time you are hoping for as I think you’d surprise yourself into being able to get around a marathon at the minute, it wouldn’t be fun mind
  18. Thanks mate, I’m sure I’ll be fine when it comes to finishing it but the self doubt always creeps in. I’ve been doing 5ks up hill and thought that would have me covered until I looked at that 😂
  19. Could have posted similar about Danny Simpson 10 years ago. In a fully functioning team, Thomas would be absolutely fine for where we are now.
  20. I’ve looked at the elevation of the marathon I’m doing and knew it was going to be a tough one but what I’ve not realised until tonight is that the climbs go on for 2/3 miles 😂 IMG_7177.webp
  21. That is a very good point . There is no way he called him from the bench though.
  22. Time difference doesn’t exist.
  23. Sounds like we are all falling to bits. Stupidly tried to run 10k uphill on the treadmill earlier but after my long run on Friday my left knee is really sore. Is 3 weeks too long to taper for a marathon if the max I’ve done is 20 miles?
  24. Just watching the Ozzy Osborne thing on BBC, tough watch.
