Reality is every country is almost certainly massively underestimating the amount of deaths due to this. It’s going to be a year or so before we know the full impact of this once all the numbers of crunched.

Number of new cases seems pretty steady despite the increase in testing. Always good to take every small positive.

Of the 700+ deaths reported today only 140 actually occurred yesterday. Shows why reading into small increases and decreases on a daily basis is pointless

Idea the Lockdown is going to be lifted and everything will reopen again immediately is nonsense anyway. Will be months before we see any sort of normality I’d imagine. Half the boozers and shops that shut will probably never reopen again anyway. Going to be a completely different world on the other side of this.

London was about a couple of weeks ahead of the rest of the country a few weeks ago so was bound to plateau first. Suggests the rest of the country peaks in a few weeks time ??

Number of confirmed cases fell again slightly. Lockdown definitely seems to be having an impact.

I guess you either have to introduce rolling lockdowns that come into play when Hospital Capacity is nearly breeched. Or some sort of immunity system where people that are immune are gradually bought back into society. Neither way looks great

Deaths in Spain have dropped 4 days in a row Italy and France both seem to be slowing too.

25% of Prison Staff have been off work due to this. There aren’t enough officers basically

Would be a big move if we didn’t do this tbf. King Power have seen their entire business basically reduced to junk overnight due to Thailand banning flights and non-residents entering the country.

Vast Majority of people flying in would need to be repatriated if the commercial airlines weren’t running any way and the disease is already rampant here. Stoping the flights would have made a difference two months ago but is pretty meaningless now.

Know quite a few people that had an awful strain of flu December/ early January Time. With the amount of travel between the Uk and Italy, China etc it’s likely it’s been here a while but on the other hand loads of people get bad flu every year. The massive increase over the last few weeks does seem to coincide with the Half Term Holidays, people going Skiing in Italy etc. Expecially given it seems to be most prominent in London and the Home counties in particular

It’s basically the same as France and Spain. If you have to work you can go but everything else bar essentials is banned
