  1. I would absolutely love a screamer of a goal from either Jannik or Wout. Faes has already taken at least one pot-shot on goal that went well over the bar.
  2. Just for reference... The ref for today's match is Darren Bond.
  3. This is such a first-world quibble... but. The lcfc.com stream always leaves a triangle 'video play' symbol in the upper right corner of the stream, at least for me if not others. Why? Just a minor annoyance, that's all.
  4. Looking forward to this match. Strong starting XI. I worry about fatigue, but I trust in Enzo to handle that issue. We might see some rotation on Boxing Day, with some of today's starters being used as impact subs against Ipswich. I think Rotherham will get a goal, probably in a flukey manner. 3-1 Leicester.
  5. My mate is a huge Tottenham supporter. He sincerely regrets the fact that Spurs allowed Winks to transfer away.
  6. After the victory over Birmingham today, 18 Dec 23: Still using a 93 point target for guaranteed promotion, and 53 points to avoid relegation. Leicester is on 55 points after 22 of 46 matches. 48% of the season has been played. Relegation status: 55 of 53 points required -- relegation avoided. Promotion status: 55 of 93 points required for automatic promotion -- 59% of the required points. We have accumulated points at a rate of 2.50 per match. We require 1.58 points per match over the remaining 24 matches. We have an 13-point gap over third place (Leeds/Southampton) -- a gap of over four wins. We have 59% of the required points for automatic promotion after 48% of the season.
  7. Very much hot and cold this match. Short periods of prime Real Madrid, longer periods of Leicester 2022-23. KDH and Mavididi excellent today. But still 3 points!
  8. Would love to see a Stephy hattrick!
  9. Just like it was so Leicester to be relegated from the Championship on a record high of 52 points in 2008. Sorry to bring up the bad memories, but like @wardyfox86 said, weird things happen when Leicester is involved.
  10. I actually thought about which word to use quite a bit. I didn't use 'Maths' because I wasn't sure it was appropriate in context. I also figured I would look like a pretentious **** if I used the word incorrectly. And now I am stuck with the thread title.
  11. This thread will be focused on the math of Leicester City's standing in the 2023-24 season with regards to promotion and relegation. In 19 previous seasons of the Championship, 93 points guaranteed promotion, and 53 points always avoided relegation to League One. I did not analyze all 100+ seasons of the Second Division. As of the results from 13 December 2023: Leicester has 52 points. 21 matches have been played (out of 46 total matches in the season) -- 46% of the season has been played. Relegation status: 52 of 53 points required to avoid relegation -- 98% of the required points. Promotion status: 52 of 93 points required for automatic promotion -- 56% of the required points. LCFC have accumulated points at a rate of 2.5 per match. LCFC require 1.6 points per match over the remaining 25 matches (required points rate). And once again, LCFC have an 11-point gap over third place (Leeds). Effectively, Leeds will have to be four wins better than LCFC over the next 25 matches to overtake. LCFC has 56% of the required points for automatic promotion after 46% of the season -- well ahead of schedule. Things are looking good thus far!
  12. Ndidi pressing the defenders marvelously.
  13. Hello Ben Nelson!
  14. Cannon not scored in ten minutes on the pitch... Gerrimout!
  15. Lots of loose passes and giveaways in the last seven minutes or so. Need to tighten things up.
  16. Faes just blasting the ball away -- good to see!
  17. Excellent duels for the ball by Hamza. No fouls, just hard physical work to win a throw.
  18. Plymouth have been willing to actually play football in both halves. Which means there is space all around the pitch in which Leicester can work.
  19. Excellent shot placement. Even though their keeper went the right direction, he still couldn't stop the shot!
  20. Mavadidi scores the peno!
  21. I suspect Enzo is using this game partially to determine which players he can reasonably rotate in, and with which other players they work.
  22. I mentioned this in the match thread. Ref's name is Sam Allison. Former lower-league player, firefighter, and EFL Ref. Interesting story, he has. https://www.efl.com/news/2023/march/from-firefighter-to-match-official-sam-allisons-refereeing-journey/ But I agree he did an excellent job today. Think it makes a difference being a former player.
  23. Slow first half for the Foxes, Vardy brace to make up for a couple of horrendous misses. Defense solid. Jannik even got two good headers on goal from corners. Happy with three points -- we march on!
