  1. I absolutely do love Yunus' pace!
  2. Leicester's match number 40 is complete. We still have a match in hand over the other two (Ipswich and Leeds). Status: 88 of 93 points required for automatic promotion. Current points rate is 2.20/match. 0.83 points/match required for the rest of the season (5 points from 6 matches). We are in first place and have a 2-point gap over third place (Leeds). We have 94.6% of the required points for automatic promotion after 86.9% of the season. P.S. I acknowledge 93 points may not be sufficient. We shall see. I am not changing the target point total until it is demonstrably incorrect.
  3. The theory on "sports hatred" to which I subscribe (I don't know where this came from originally) -- Sports Hatred is primarily Jealousy. Leicester supporters hate on Ipswich because (1) they are winning, consistently, (2) they mostly play exuberant, positive attacking football (while we occasionally slip into doldrums), and (3) they are actually ahead of us! (dammit) We are jealous on all three points. I hated Man United in 1999 because they were simply winning everything in sight. And that was jealousy!.
  4. This is completely off the subject, but I am constantly amused at how much Googling I have to do to keep up with conversations on this forum (as a Yank). WTH is Bovril? (Google) WTH is Skegness? WTH is Poundland? WTH is Tesco? And on and on. Keeps me on my toes.
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_UEFA_Cup_semi-final_violence Memorial for two Leeds fans stabbed to death in Istambul before Leeds v Galatasaray, 5 April 2000. Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight. (I had to look this up...)
  6. Wait for it. Waaaaait for it!
  7. You could very well be right. However, I will stick with the historical 93-point requirement until it is proven to be insufficient. Leeds, Ipswich, and Southampton are not immune to the nerves of the promotion chase.
  8. Leicester's match number 39 just finished. All three top clubs have completed 39 matches as of this writing. Status: 85 of 93 points required for automatic promotion. Current points rate is 2.18/match. 1.14 points/match required for the rest of the season (8 points from 7 matches). We are in first place and have a 2-point gap over third place (Ipswich). We have 91.4% of the required points for automatic promotion after 84.8% of the season.
  9. Oh yes, such a class goal for Stephy. Juked the defender out of his boots, then a beautiful curled shot inside the far post!
  10. Drab first half. Spirited second half after the humorous OG by Chelsea. Doyle was left out to dry by the rest of our defense, and was forced to take a red card for the team. Couldn't hold Chelsea back after that. Dust ourselves off in two weeks and get promoted!
  11. Leicester's match week 37 is complete. One win, one draw in the last two matches away. Status: 82 of 93 points required for automatic promotion. Current points rate is 2.22/match. 1.22 points/match required for the rest of the season (11 points from 9 matches). We have a 4-point gap over third place (Ipswich). We have 88.2% of the required points for automatic promotion after 80.0% of the season.
  12. Gonna be a bazillion minutes of stoppage time. Every player who takes a knock collapses in a heap, then the ref obligingly stops play for treatment.
  13. The ref today is Sam Barrott.
  14. Vardy, steady as always, scores the penalty!
  15. Peno for the Foxes!
  16. The goal does show the effectiveness of a high press. All you need is one slight mistake from the opponent's defenders, and immediately you have a scoring chance.
  17. Damn. Peno for Hull.
  18. Happy with the lineup. Serious impact subs available for the second half. Lets run this lot off the pitch!
  19. Wow. Just wow. I can't believe I just read 17 pages of posts on what are basically rumors (at least when said posts actually stayed on topic). A few articles/tweets were published, effectively saying "There might be some FFP problems/breaches for Leicester City, but we have no facts one way or the other." Some forum members absolutely go off, trashing one or more of the following: Rudkin, Top, KPI, (and more infrequently) Rodgers. I am content to wait until the actual finances are disclosed, digested, and explained to me. I love LCFC, but I am not likely to read and properly comprehend a multi, multi-page financial disclosure report. If we are found to have been in violation of FFP rules, we will take the penalty and move on. As long as the club survives, financially, I will have an English football team to support. I know almost all supporters still supported the Foxes in League One. I was supporting from a distance, as streaming options for League One football in 2008-09 basically didn't exist (at least I didn't find them). Some people love to overreact. Others love their hobby horse, and look for any opportunity to hop on it.
  20. My breezy cheeky answer is Both. I always want my club to win their matches. I also understand the wear and tear on the players. But, the FFP rumors move my preference toward promotion. Being penalized for financial breaches while still stuck in this division would be very damaging to the club. I will trust the manager to manage the squad. He rotated the squad pretty significantly for Bournemouth and we still won.
  21. May need Enzo to suit up and give us 30 minutes in midfield. Good to see Ndidi back. Fatawu outstanding work rate. Looks like a bunch of weary players, and too much passivity. Still, happy that we won!
  22. Wow, what a cracking shot! And good save by Mads!
  23. Are we playing down to the level of our opponent?
  24. Now that I can play the audio, sounds like a church service in there!
  25. Excellent work from Yunus!
