Leicester City will be our opponent at the Fieszta gala match** As in previous years, a special opponent will visit us for the traditional July gala match this year. We are thrilled to announce that at the 2025 Zete Fieszta, we will welcome the former Premier League champion, Leicester City, to the ZTE Arena. Once again, we are preparing for a match that will offer an unforgettable experience not only for Zalaegerszeg but for the entire football-loving community in the country. The club, with a long and storied history, was founded in 1884, originally known as Leicester Fosse. The team from the small East Midlands town is famously nicknamed the “Foxes,” and their home is the King Power Stadium, which has a capacity of around 32,000. This year’s Zete Fieszta will feature a true blue-and-white clash, as Leicester’s official colors, like ZTE’s, are dominated by blue and white. Leicester City is a three-time English League Cup winner, a two-time Community Shield (English Super Cup) winner, as well as an FA Cup winner and Premier League champion. The club’s greatest achievement is undoubtedly the 2015/16 season’s English Premier League title, which went down in history as one of the greatest surprises in football. At the start of that season, bookmakers gave the Foxes 5,000-to-1 odds of winning the title – not surprising, as just two years earlier, they had celebrated a championship in the second division. That title-winning team was bolstered by outstanding players such as Jamie Vardy, N’Golo Kanté, and Riyad Mahrez, with Claudio Ranieri etching his name into the history of both the club and English football from the dugout. The most recent season was not kind to the Foxes: they finished 18th in the Premier League table, meaning they will compete in the second tier next season, fighting for the championship and promotion. Their club icon, Jamie Vardy, bid farewell to Leicester at the end of the season, but the squad, featuring players from the English, Argentine, and Belgian national teams, is still brimming with big names. During this special sporting celebration, we will bring the magic of English football closer to the fans, offering an authentic Hungarian-English football experience up close. The Zete Fieszta will begin on July 19 at 1:00 PM, when we open the popular Fan Zone outside the stadium, followed by additional programs that our dear fans have come to expect, continuing until the evening. We will soon share the full schedule of the Zete Fieszta on our official platforms. For fans with valid season tickets for the 2025/26 season, entry to the ZTE FC – Leicester City match is free.
