Barnes is the best in the prem at one twos, perhaps him doing that in the center of the attack wouldn't be a bad idea at all.
He did alright at West Brom in a more central role so why not

Mendy and Nacho have to be certain starters in place of vardy and ndidi. We were a different team when they came on, and wolves are no Man City

Must admit I'm glad the title winning season has obliterated the one-upmanship of the older lot talking about the Bloomfield era like I've missed out on prime Brazil

You don’t see through it? The PR Spin he’s putting out there? Really? Ok… maybe I'm too cynical - for me, just like Brendan, it’s operation protect yourself in full flow
I can understand your comment with regard to Rodgers, but what's maddison trying to protect himself from? He's our best player by far every game. I doubt he'll be here next season so why does he need to put out any pr spin?

How the hell have you read that from Maddison’s comments? That’s exactly the crap people are saying that some of our fans are just looking for something that isnt there to attack Maddison with. It’s bizarre and pretty sad.
Welcome to foxestalk, the only fans forum that contributes fcuk knows how many pages to criticising their best player .

Can’t stand the crap he keeps coming out with, could be Brendan saying those things to be honest.
Brilliant footballer, but a Rodgers fanboy… blurghhYeah I can't stand all this positive crap he keeps coming out with either. Would be far more appropriate if our current captain said we've got no fcuking chance of staying up so let's not bother, we're doomed. Bollocks. If he didn't give a fcuk he wouldn't say anything. If a few more of them showed half of Maddison's passion on and off the pitch we wouldn't be in this relegation shit.

Maddison should just concentrate on playing rather then these online spats. In isolation, a point away to Brentford may not be all that bad considering our season, but what's his take on the Southampton game, when we got beaten by a team bottom of the table who hadn't won at home for over 6 months. Or the debacle that was Blackburn. Played off the park by a championship club, who should've scored 4/5 goals past us. After Spurs we've been terrible and no BS from Maddison can spin that. I appreciate Maddison is showing some fight and passion, but this needs to be done on the pitch, not online and by the whole team, not one player.
What was his positive take on those two games?

I like how he obviously cares enough to argue with people, if he didn’t he would even respond it’s not like he needs us to stay up he will be playing champions league football next season regardless
If he actually bothered to read most of the typical ft bollocks spouted off about him on here, he'd be saying "fcuk you lot and rot in your own pile of shit, I'll be playing for a top six team next season, good luck in the championship you'll need it." But no, he's consistently our best player each week by a country mile.

Time will tell if madders and his outbursts will come to fruition.
Personally, I don't think we have anywhere near the 'minerals' for a relegation scrap and certainly aren't going to push up the table going by what we have been served up so far.
As class as madders is, he won't be here next season regardless.
All the best James.
He might not be here next season but it doesn't stop him caring or trying more than the rest of the team. Perhaps it would be better if he said "we're fcuking shite and deserve to get relegated" instead of putting a positive slant on a point away from home against a team 8th in the league.

Smugness is an assumption you're right. Even I'm in agreement
I'd love to go for a beer with him and ask him on his thoughts on the club. All I can do is read what he's choosing to put out there and work from that. Strikes me that he's fully bought into the Rodgers spin. I'd love to ask if he thinks this squad should be scrabbling around for points and making posts about getting a draw against a team that has significantly less resources than us.
Unfortunately for him I don't think he quite realises that the fanbase is thinking "how has this club that was pushing top 4 and moved into a training ground that would leave 'no exuses' now spinning it that 40 points this season would be an amazing achievement"?
He's putting himself in the crossfire when he really doesn't have to. Get your head down and let your football do the talking lad. Football is followed by brainless fickle idiots in the main. If we win 2 games then there will barely be an ounce of negativity online.
For perspective, his recent posts just make me think of this
He's letting his football do the talking every game. His contribution to the cause on the pitch also allows him an opinion off it. If we had half a dozen more players with his commitment and passion we wouldn't be where we are.

I got no problem with Top staying but he can’t be anywhere near the decision making of this club.
He hasn’t done a thing in his life to suggest he can run this business. And his actions are showing it. We go down it’s a HUGE **** up
Who should be the decision maker then, Rudkin? We've got nobody at the club capable of turning this around. They all need to fcuk off before it's too late

And the rest. A lot of the teams at the bottom currently are picking up way more than a point a game recently. You'll be looking at 36 or 37 this season.

The whole ethos behind the new training ground was to build a dynasty of player improvement from academy ages through to the 1st team.
I highly doubt it has happened but if you are going to do what we've done and have the vision for this, then at the forefront of it is significant investment in to the academy where the marginal gains for player improvement can be vast. I've seen no tangible increase in investment in the recruitment of players in the 16-20 age bracket (we missed a huge trick before the transfer rule changes came in to effect at a time many other clubs around us did), no recruitment of new coaches at the age levels (U16/18/21) most obvious to the average fan, there's been some senior strategic posts in the academy that have lay vacant for months / years and overall there's been little development.
The appointment of Paul McGuinness is the one clue that we had certain ideas for the future of the academy but for whatever reason they've barely changed and Paul sadly departed. The sheer size of the operation is clear to see that at some point that is or was the vision.
If I could have my way, the number 1 priority of this football club would be to build the best academy in the world. By having that goal, I'd expect improvements to be made.
I'd build an ethos where the fundamental plan is to create and develop as many first team players as humanely possible, whether to play for Leicester City or to be sold and the funds reinvested. By having a finely tuned process with the best coaches money can buy, a sizeable chunk of resources available to recruit and run the academy and the reputation of our academy improving as a result I'd expect us to be in an environment of having players coming through.
By doing so, we can further operate the investment model of our club where the 1st team buys gifted young players for low to medium fees, develops them in the first team and carefully sells chosen high value players when the time is right.
Those funds are reinvested to attempt to compete with the best of the rest as much as possible and improve the squad overall. This is an extension of the way the academy is operated and the academy compliments the 1st team with providing the replacements for some of those players that are sold, whether that be because they are sought after by bigger clubs, no longer 1st choice for us, etc.
The whole process is part of the sustainable long term model our club talks about, now I accept all of that isn't easy and to attempt to do it from a point of power that we've gotten ourselves in to is also difficult. We can't suddenly neglect our stature as being at the time in amongst the top handful of PL clubs, to focus solely on the academy but it could and should have been taken more seriously. We've wasted multiple millions elsewhere that could have been best used in this function and we'd hopefully be already bearing the fruits of this.
Great example of this academy model has to be Ajax

I'd take Jon Dahl Thommason after the way Blackburn played against us. Really well organised, aggressive, forward thinking. Thought they pressed superbly.
Think he might fancy Blackburn's chances in the premiership more than ours in the championship 🤔
