@CyprusFoxWere you a massive fan of the player before the rumours then?
Totally irrelevant Rudders. The point I'm making is, we were heavily linked with him and 2 weeks later Bournemouth's dof is supposedly jetting off for talks when it would appear we've done fuch all as usual. And know I'd never heard of him before the rumours but since looking at his stats and YouTube highlights. Would I want him here? Too fcuking right I would. Shambles, get it done Rudkin.

I'm assuming we'll attract the sponsorship because we've got a team of Crocs. Could be wrong 😂

For me its roughly Rodgers 60%, owners 30% and players 10%.
The total disarray on the pitch is obviously down to Rodgers. The fact that he's still here is obviously down to the hierarchy. Who's mostly to blame for our situation?🤔

Hmmmmmmm another winger I'm torn on, I shouldn't be feeling this way when all I've done for the last few years on here is bollock the club for not signing wingers.
@moore_94 will be delighted, he's regularly championed Gonzalez. @kingfox I think has done too and both these lads tend to be a bit more measured and considered in their scouting and research than me.
The main reasons I've never really considered Gonzalez is a) the perceived fee he'd have cost pre injuries and b) he's in that age bracket of players that got their move to a decent club and not really been sensational enough that it suggests he's got much higher in him to go.
That doesn't mean he won't improve but the risk / reward of younger and more unproven players is obvious.
As a player he's not going to come up on searches as an out and out right winger, hes versatile that he plays anywhere across the front three. I don't mind that, his stats when he has played RW are decent enough. I like his mentality, he's got some fire bubbling away inside him which can't be said about a good chunk of our squad. He's also very strong in thr air for a wide forward which would be a bonus and he's good on the ball at beating players, something else we struggle with.
Let me just rewind that back, he is very good in the air. We'd actually have a forward who we could, at times, deploy through the middle when we need to do something different. We launch enough balls in the box when chasing games and never have a player who can disrupt a set defence.
I liken his forward play to Barnes, as in he's a good finisher but not a natural finisher. They both are extremely wasteful, not Ayoze Perez wasteful but there'll be plenty of times Gonzalez creates an opening for himself and its easy to score than miss.
I'm concerned about niggling injuries but if he is the man we are willing to pay big for then I can get on board with it as he will make an impact rather than hoping an unpolished diamond " might ".
Fcuk it, I'm sold. GERRRIIIMMMIINNNN
Fcuk it, so am I 😀

Completely agree I think there has to be a balance here when forming an opinion, I think in terms of total expenditure we have spent a lot of money relative to our club size, but in the context of net spend we definitely haven’t managed our spending well in terms of players we’ve sold and replaced. Rodgers isn’t solely responsible for making signings, although bringing his mate Congerton in does put a lot of the blame on his door given Congertons record. But ultimately it’s as if the entire blueprint of Leicester city transfer policy that was carefully put together by Pearson and Walsh etc has basically been dismantled and we’ve gone for a Manchester United style approach of complete chaos and the blame for that comes from all levels from board to management.
ultimately the issue here isn’t really an argument of net vs gross for me, it’s an issue of buying largely dross for the majority of our signings. I keep banging this drum but I liked Puel, it didn’t work on the pitch, but he transformed us from a team that couldn’t hold possession to save our lives to a team that held it to the point that it became counter productive, but he took over a very one dimensional squad and by the time he left, we had 4/5 of the most promising under 25 players in the country, some in Europe, and a squad that could be flexible to multiple different formations and styles.
Ndidi, Maddison, Chilwell, Soyuncu, Pereira and Tielemans all looked like potential superstars.
Fast forward to today we have no plan on the pitch, seemingly no plan in recruitment, we have a squad capable of playing fast counter attacking football and a squad that can also hold the ball and play possession, but we are terrible at both 😂 I genuinely feel like we need someone with footballing experience to come in and advise the club from top to bottom, along the lines of what Rangnick was going to do at United.
We are rudderless.
Spot on

I tell you what though, if we'd have allowed him to squander more money on his shitty transfers we'd be in a lot worse predicament than we already are now.
Couldn't agree more which is why he should've been long gone. That responsibility lies solely with the amateurs running the club

There is a point here and I do agree somewhat, but it's largely irrelevant when you consider our total spend.
Lets pretend a club signs a full squad for 20m, then sells them for 1 billion, and then spends 1 billion replacing that squad, net spend is £0. But they've still spent 1 billion on new players to replace the old.
Our net spend is low largely because we've received whacking great fees for players then spent those funds on absolute dross. How much has he spent in total? something like 240m? I appreciate we've lost good players, but we received 160m for just 2 players in Fofana and Maguire. If Brendan/Scouts are unable to find decent players for 240m+ then fundamentally something is wrong regardless of what the net spend is.
Net spend is only hugely relevant when considering the fees we have received and what we have replaced them with. If we had sold all our best players combined for say £20m, and then only spent 55m replacing them then that 35m net would hold more weight.
Puels net spend was about £20m and he completely transformed the squad, signing Maddison, Pereira, Soyuncu, Evans, Tielemans was basically his signing anyway or atleast played a large part.I totally understand where you're coming from but we're 18th in the net spend table over the last 5 years which reeks of lack of ambition and bad management from above. We absolutely deserve to be in the predicament we're in and unless it changes very quickly we're destined for the championship. I'm still in the Brendan out camp but in my opinion he can't and shouldn't shoulder all the blame and should be followed out of this club by the hierarchy running it. A complete amateurish shambles and going backwards fast.

I get where you are coming from and i'd love to get the enthusisum (sp) again!Maybe it's an age thing with me (middle 50's).Watched the Pleat,Holloway,Levien,Pearson,Ranieri, etc home and away and can honestly say that this the most i've been disconected from the club.Parking is a pain in the arse, walking to the ground for about a mile, security being pricks,no decent pubs round the ground, watch sideways and backwards football....then go home!
I go back even further (mid 60s) but you've just about summed up the current situation perfectly. As far as I'm concerned though it's never been the same since they flattened filbert street. 😭

An lower league clubs are even more desperate for the money, we could of easily got someone from the championship or league one for less than 5 million that would of been at least 5 years younger than Vestegaard.
