I don't know, I don't have the luxury of being able to ask him. (And no, you didn't ask a rhetorical question here, as you don't know for sure or can confirm with him either) (2nd bold point) all the better to expand his horizons then, explore and create his own true identity. My take on it is that, he along with Kompany are seen as 'Disciples of Pep' and are borrowing from his tried and tested style, tactics etc. which works with the literal Billions of pound backing he's had at Man City, and because he is the actual author of that style/ identity. Now I appreciate we can't offer Enzo the same financial backing, and yes he has had to deal with the fallout from the odious little creature known as Rodgers, but he needs to break away a little from the perceived 'teachings of Pep' and truly create his own style, yes use it as a loose base template but actually adapt it and sprinkle some Enzo flavour on it (just because it works for Man City and its what he knows and is comfortable with it is not a reason to dig his heals in and come out with statements along the lines of this this the style deal with it) and I don't think he's doing that at the moment...but who knows what will happen.

I hope you don't come back. It would mean we have lost, and that's the last thing I want.

Enzo needs to be careful - the dangerous spiral
Guppys Love Child replied to Collymore's topic in Leicester City Forum
But it doesn't mean Collymore is wrong though. -
Possibly because deep down with Enzo stubbornly sticking to his mantra nothing will change. We have been poor for few matches now, something is potentially wrong. IMO now's the time for Enzo to show a bit of flexibility, and objectively with his coaching staff look at what's going wrong and adjust and not adopt the 'do plan A better' approach. Come back and ask this question again after the Baggies game if we loose it whilst by playing the same 5hit way as we did against Sheffield Wednesday.

Good post...spot on

I agree with most if not all of this, but still think the style and tactics Enzo wants us to play would hamper even these players. The patient, recycling from the back is far too slow, and we spend more time sideways and backwards passing then getting it forward for our attacking outlets to go and do some damage. ( Yes we see limited glimpse of attacks but we desperately need it to happen more often and not be subjected to the current passing bore fest) Yes the names you have quoted would maybe be better upgrades than our current players but playing Enzoball would stop us finding out if you were right.
-
It pains me to say it..but he won't. . I'd be very surprised if it's not the same set up of side to side and backwards passing looking for 'solutions ' when we play the Baggies.

Really... We have been boring from day one my friend.

For anyone driving. Load the 'Just Park' app on your phone and search for a driveway to park on. I do it every time I park at Stanmore when going to Wembley (saves me an hour getting out the tube carpark) or anywhere out of town. Ok it may be a smidge more expensive then a carpark, ( in most cases only a bit) but it's a hell of a lot easier. Plus you could actually book and pay for a driveway and turn up 5 mins after, it's that flexible.

Yep. You make valid points my friend. I'd just like to hope that as highly paid professional footballers that they could adjust to a slight injection of pace. I'm not suggesting reckless abandonment for the sake of speed, just a tad quicker and bit more zest to the passing. In all fairness at times we've seen Vestagaard ambel out of defence and virtually stop ( no this isn't a personal criticism of him just an example) so its hopefully possible, certainly in the championship. -

Good post. (Bold bit) I think if we upped the tempo a smidge it would benefit in many ways, it would pull the opposition around the bit faster, it would also give the receiving player a moment extra with the ball to assess the best option and make sure the pass is the best possible. Hopefully this would bring the needed 'pass count' down a bit. ( We do look a bit over- coached and pass for the sake of it) and finally anything played at pace looks better and more entertaining -

No worries my friend. 👍 And yes the post was already turning into War and Peace in length so I was over simplifying it a bit, but your overall analysis was pretty much 'bob on' -

Oh bore off. ! You're tiresome and seem to be doing the lions share of moaning on these threads. I'm just warming up in the car and this post will be my only reply to you, as I truly can't be bothered to get into a "tennis slagging match" "Moaning" - get over it, it's a forum, It's part of it. The content of my past post's have always commented on the entertainment value of matches, and my dislike of possession based football. It's not my cup of tea. I have posted many times that I understand the reasons for our current playing style and the mechanics of it, and I am behind it, and the team, as its bringing in the results. But as a paying fan I'm allowed to voice that whilst it's working and I'm ecstatic that we are winning, I, like a few others on here are bored at times. ( But I still park my arse on a seat each home match.) First half today was a slow huff and a puff session. Second half much better. It amazing what happens when we up the tempo. How much more entertaining we become for the short spells but more importantly how much more affective we are. As mentioned I'm not a lover of our playing style, but if we just play quicker more often, and stop over playing on the passing front and I'll be a lot happier- 338 replies

Ha ha...then there must be loads of of old women then, as I'm not alone in my opinion...and I am behind them supporting my love, sitting on a cold plastic seat typing this reply.

Why, Its a forum.. Where people express options, and are entitled to moan. Its hardly entertaining football at the moment, slow and pedestrian for 90% of the time. How about you stop moaning about others moaning then

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks the same... I agree with every point

100% agree... For high percentages of each of our games so far we have been boring to watch. Yes we get patches of play where we are more cutting and the excitement level moves up a notch or three then we go back into "control mode" and teeth pulling starts again. I've also had a few in the family stand get a bit heated if I mention the words" pass forward" or "come on the goals then other way" even if the latter is said in jest. I have a feeling that Enzo is stubborn and hell bent on the style play and it's this way only, and this does concern me a bit. Our current league position indicates he's not stupid but IMO he needs to find a way to mix it up and try another tactic then its obviously not working on the pitch. I'm just not convinced he's willing to do that

Middlesbrough Post Match 1-0 Defeat
Guppys Love Child replied to Bert's topic in Leicester City Forum
Because we are boring to watch IMO. Yes the reason for our current playing style isn't lost on me . (This post isn't on its effectiveness, does it work or not etc.) I understand the mechanics of it, I appreciate it isn't aimless BrendanBall, and there is method to why we pass so much, but for the vast majority of the games we have played so far, a high percentage of each match is like pulling teeth and not very exciting to watch, to me that is, others may love the tactical side, and appreciate that style of play, and that's fine and truly hope they are getting enjoyment from it, but it's not my cup of tea. Yes there are points where we break the lines and spring into action, and offer a bit of excitement to the fans but as I said, on the whole the passing far out ways the springing. And it is Boring. -
The Guinness 0% just loses a little of its physical "thickness" and body and is a smidge sweeter. I just find a vast majority of the AF stuff dry, overly hoppy in taste and has a stale flavour... And I'm sorry to say that includes the IPA's But back to us. Yeah we ain't doing too bad. 🤪

And there lies the biggest oxymoron ever..🤪🍻🍻🍺 Guinness 0%. May just pass at a push..

Southampton Post Match (1-4) W
Guppys Love Child replied to OntarioFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Pretty much my take on the game as well. I was having a mini rant at the TV towards the end with some of the needless passing around and backwards in the penalty zone. Correct me if I'm wrong but did anyone else notice that the overall tempo we played at was quicker than previous matches and the intent to try and actually get forward with a bit more gusto was a little more evident. -

I hear you my friend, and anything to get 'Lurch' out of the team is a win for me. But I guess Enzo see's JJ as the inferior passer of the 3 we have just mentioned hence he's bench warming -

I agree with your 1st point. Whilst we navigate through this learning phase of Enzo's Idea, we are more than capable of a mistake or two, but it doesn't detract from the fact that both teams will want the lions share of possession, hence the possibility of numerous spells of spectator boredom (for some) whilst both teams play the "patient" build up, dragging players out of possession looking for the holes to exploit routine. We loose it middle of the park, they go back to the keeper/ defence to start the process of dragging players about and hole finding, loose it to us and we do the same as we have seen before. We as spectators may get lucky at some point and see a team break the cycle and not go back to 'reset' and go for it. ( I hope it's us as when we do go forward with pace and aggressive intent we look dangerous) It's irresistible force meets immovable object time.
