Mariners’ relievers are insane. Even the low leverage guys pitch 100mph
-
Against Seattle’s number 5 starting pitcher as well. Does not bode well for the rest of the series

Ravens 1-5, who’d’ve thunk it

No, it's me Jomboy, one of your own!

The Toronto Blue Jays’ George Springer is a huge Hartford Whalers fan. The batting gloves he wears are Whalers branded - he’s been on an absolute tear since he started wearing them! I can only imagine how much he would love it if they returned

So it's Jays v Mariners for the ALCS. Time to wipe away the nightmare of the 2022 play-offs. Can't say I agree with this dropping of the ghost-runner rule in extra innings for the play offs. Seattle went 15 innings and used at least 3 starting pitchers in their clincher vs Detroit last night. Good for the Jays of course but I think introducing this rule was one of the best things MLB did - keeps tied-games shorter and saves arms. Use it in the play-offs!

One-dimensional team, when they don't hit home runs they don't know how to win a game. Throw in a bad defense, and Judge ain't getting that ring any time soon. Get Jomboy in to advise on direction, I'm convinced he'd do a better job than the current lot!

Nothing sweeter than clinching in the Bronx. Daaaa…Yankees lose!

@Jordan it’s done!!

Yes it’s a bullpen day. It worked last time out but not so sure about Yankee stadium tonight! I’m bracing for a game 5 at the Rogers Centre

6-1 up but couldn't hold on to that in Yankee stadium. Two more cracks at it, the 2nd in Toronto if it gets that far..

Always good when the Chiefs lose

@spacemunky what the hell happened to the Bills last night? I would have put my house on them beating the Patriots!

Yesavage a rookie in only his 4th start, 0 hits, 11Ks, astonishing performance. He was in the minors for most of the season, often talked about, but nobody could ever have imagined he would have that kind of impact this season

Scenes at the Roger’s Centre!

Yanks 1 Blue Jays 10 let’s go!! One down

Not confident about this, especially with Bo Bichette out. But it's baseball - anything can happen and probably will!
-
Incredibly risky that last play before the tying field goal, Packers could easily have left with nothing

Blue Jays AL East champs and #1 seed in the AL

Yep, you can probably put a fork in the Tigers, there's no coming back from that kind of collapse. Even Skubal looked well ruffled by the Guards, almost felt sorry for him!

Blue Jays and Tigers choking away their long-standing leads in their respective divisions, in the last week of the season

Christ, Packers find a way to lose to the Browns

Fascinating last week of the regular season coming up. Jays making heavy weather of trying to clinch the AL East. Scored a miserable 3 runs in the last 4 games, Bo Bichette being a huge miss. I don't think the Jays can do anything in October going in as a wild card, they really need to be one of the top 2 seeds. A couple of weeks ago nobody in their right mind would have thought the Tigers wouldn't be winning the AL Central, but Cleveland, wow - won 14 of 15 I think. And in that kind of form, they must be favourites to win the division, with a final week home series against the Tigers coming up as well. In the AL West with perfect timing the Mariners have finally overtaken the Astros, having just beaten them twice. Mariners look like the strongest all-round AL team to me. In the NL, it's only really the last wildcard spot that is up for grabs, with the Reds and the Diamondbacks hot on the heels of the Mets for the last remaining spot, with the Giants having more or less faded out of contention in the last week. A few months ago I covered all combinations of a Red-Sox/Rangers/Mariners v Phillies/Padres World Series, so I am still in with a squeak. I'd gladly give all that up for an appearance in the World Series by the Jays .

Sweep the Tigers next week and you might actually have a great chance to win that division. Unthinkable a couple of weeks ago.

Jays' top prospect 22-yr old Trey Yesavage strikes out 9 on his MLB debut to break a franchise debutant record. With Bieber and a red-hot Gausman, and now Yesavage, the Jays' starting pitching looking a lot better than it was a few weeks ago. Blue Jays now 5 games ahead of the Yankees with the tie-breaker in hand as well. And currently top seed in the AL. 12 regular season games left. Worryingly, the NL does seem to be a lot stronger than the AL this year..
