  1. That was a great sitcom from an age of pretty good US sitcoms, such as Cheers, Soap etc. Howard Hesseman's Dr Johnny Fever was legendary. I think Loni Anderson was married to Burt Reynolds at some point
  2. He made a killing from the previous tariffs-induced dips. Probably can't stand the idea that Musk is richer!
  3. Trump and his brainless Tariffs again
  4. Yes, cracking entertainment that was, especially for Jays and Red Sox fans. Not least because of how the Yankees trade-deadline bullpen signings got on: Jake Bird - gave up a walk, 2 singles and then a grand slam David Bednar - gave up a homer, double, 2 singles Camilo Doval (9th inning) - 2 singles and a walk And on one of the singles given up by Doval, teammate and fellow debutant Jose Caballero out in right field mishandled a ground ball, the error leading to a game-tying run. Then the Marlins walk it off with the runner at 3rd getting home after a dribbler in front of the plate by ex-Yankee Agustin Ramirez. You couldn't write this stuff!
  5. Somewhat underwhelming trade deadline day for the Jays, especially when you look at what the Yankees did for their bullpen. Not sure about Varland and France, they must have been late pieces left over after the Twins tore up their roster; happy with the Seranthony Dominguez trade, and obviously a bit of a gamble on Bieber but if he gets back even close to what he was before the TJ surgery (and gets back sharpish), well it could make all the difference this season..
  6. Conversely, Chelsea looking to hire AJ Preller
  7. If healthy he'll be the starter in the Jays first play off game 🙂
  8. Blue Jays with currently THE best record in MLB. Leading the majors in numerous team stats - batting average, hits, OBP and fewest hitting strikeouts. Along with the Brewers, the surprise story of the season so far.
  9. Jays take another series off the Yankees. Now tied for the best record in the AL. 2nd best record in MLB. 4 game lead atop the AL East. Trade deadline next week. Push the boat out and we can win this thing!
  10. So good, they named him twice
  11. Remember it well. Norman Wisdom was a better footballer
  12. That bat flip and that inning will live long in the memory!
  13. Yep, Joe Carter et al over 30 years ago already! Can't believe it. I haven't been this hopeful about the Jays since the 2015-2016 teams of Bautista and Donaldson that made it to the ALCS. They don't seem to be the most naturally talented but there is a fantastic togetherness about them. The bottom order are really performing to help out the big boys. Starting pitching is the concern going forward as we've been pretty thin at times, but maybe Scherzer can keep that thumb injury at bay and we can also get someone in before the deadline.
  14. Blue Jays sweep the Yankees in 4 games, and now sit atop the AL East for the first time since Sep 2016. Long way to go but a great time to be a Blue Jays fan. One of the most enjoyable and satisfying series sweeps I have ever witnessed
  15. I have heard that he is not totally convinced about the project so he is only willing to sign a 1-year Röhling contract
  16. I wouldn't take anything on FT so seriously. I for one have enjoyed your insights into the AIM market!
  17. Canada Day. And the Blue Jays wearing red thump the Yankees. On a Max Fried day as well. George Springer 2HR, 7 RBIs including a grand slam in the 7th. Now only 1 game back of the Yanks. Beautiful!
  18. Interesting! Don't like that stadium, Jays were annoyingly swept there earlier, and I thought at the time that they just couldn't get used to the minor league surroundings, in the heat as well. Maybe the Rays could use the Marlins stadium for the WS..
  19. Totally in jest. I mean, I've put my life savings in EEE afterall
  20. Bit of a catch up, as we're about half-way in the regular season. My Blue Jays are going pretty well at the moment, sat in a wild card spot and not out of the division race. With Max Scherzer back we now have a proper full 5-man starting rotation, having had to use some bull-pen days previously due to a lack of fit and healthy starters. Yankees unsurprisingly leading, though the red-hot Rays are right on their heels. Red Sox looked like they had turned a corner but seem to have imploded since trading Devers to the Giants. Elsewhere, Tariq Skubal still doing his thing with the Tigers who are looking like the best team in baseball right. In the NL, the Phillies slugging it out with the slumping Mets in the East. And the money-bags Dodgers looking unstoppable in the West, and with Ohtani starting to pitch again. Right now my prediction would be a Rays v Dodgers World Series, with the Rays winning it
  21. I think this must be T212 warning me about @Lako42 ! ====================================================================== We want to make you aware of a growing scam trend targeting retail investors, particularly through social media and messaging apps. It’s called a ramp-and-dump (or pump-and-dump) scheme — and it can lead to serious financial losses. How it works: Scammers pose as trusted contacts, investment advisors, or even romantic interests. They often invite you to join private groups or chats where they “share tips” about supposedly promising stocks. These are typically low-volume, low-cap stocks (often referred to as “penny stocks”). The scam plays out like this: - They promote a stock with claims of insider knowledge, hidden value, or upcoming news. - As unsuspecting investors buy in and push the price up, the scammers offload their own holdings at inflated prices. - Once they sell, the price crashes — and you’re left with the losses. What to watch out for: - Tips from strangers or unsolicited messages about “can’t-miss” investments. - Claims of inside info or secret opportunities. - Urgency or pressure to buy immediately. - Private chat groups or forums with hype and little substance
  22. Won last night. Finally
  23. Flipped over onto their sides, we used them as 'goals' in 5-a-side football. You had to actually hit the bench to score a goal, so we quickly mastered the art of shooting low..
  24. King Power's Fivethousandtoone wins the 1.40 at Newcastle at 25/1. Lets hope KP had a few billion on him..
