They have actually already done it themselves, they are just too short term focused to notice or care. The micro democracy of capitalism will allow them to be restrained eventually, it might take the lives of the few or the many before that point is reached. As long as they can keep us distracted, they are in control.

Scientists are in a privileged position, and like many who are at the upper end of their fields, they can suffer from hubris. Scientists have a far larger problem in my opinion. They are useless at communication, or at least at communication with regard to contemporary society, at the way to bridge the gap between their science and the public consciousness.

Would not say it was especially biased either way, nor especially insightful, as it just yet again portrayed the malaise and negativity that is evident and seemingly expected in these times,

Personal truths with scrutiny just becomes truth though.

There is more to my post, as I later confessed that even though the point is fundamentally true, it is not in reality reasonable to expect everybody to walk the web of lies to unpick the eventual truth. We do have responsibility to some degree to look for the truth, but we are prevented or discouraged from reaching it. Therefore we must trust at some point in who we are prepared to listen too.

For sure, and that lying for votes is now a mainstay of global politics. I think my comment was quite unfair in reality, as even if it is true fundamentally, in reality where the time we can oft assign to uncovering the truth is limited, we have little real option but to listen to those who purport to serve us.

Whoever voted leave, its their fault. You can say 'they lied' to which I would say 'you should have looked closer'.
