Has Okoli not be called up for the u21s? Edit, you are right, no Faes or Okoli in the squads.

No more interested in Huddersfield for Ben, than I am for single instances of failure for the others. Once the failures become too many, it’s time to rotate. There is a game 4 days after the last international, depending on the journey time, it may have an effect. Won’t give up, still hope for us and Ben.

He needs to come in whilst one of the others is on International duty and do ok, not great or outstanding, just do fine. He is clearly capable enough but is blocked by the old guard. Cannot theorise what the hell went on during the window, but it feels like Ben is having to wait for his chance even if those blocking him are underperforming more than we would like. Only saving grace is that he is not really behind on the first team promotion timeline given his injury last season.

Problem with that of course, is that three center backs is not really enough when you have little to no u21 cover. Loan a more senior one in so we could get Ben a loan maybe.

According to reports it was Faes who was the one who was looking to exit, which would have done nicely.

Start versus Portsmouth a possibility as all three senior CB’s only just returned from internationals.

Fair enough, he is now worst case fourth choice, so could the impending internationals be a window where he is required I wonder? Realise that Luke was forced through when he broke into the starters, but yeah, different levels, different times. Also CB’s do emerge typically later than other outfield players and he is still on a fairly typical pathway given his age, perhaps slightly delayed due to injury.

Looking at when he made his debut, when he went on loan, etc. It seems he is very much in the Leicester model in terms of timeline, pretty much similar to Chilwell until his injury. I do get the argument about peer’s being of more questionable quality mind.

Not dismissive, would like to think I am considering why he may not be playing, rather than assuming a negative. Perhaps my under praise is in direct proportion to the amount of over praise on show in here? (It is utterly impossible to say that is not the case) Let’s be clear, of course I want him to do well here and I think he will eventually, and lets hope his involvement increases this season.
