Easy to say things that are largely without basis. (Oxford is not comparable due to the different expectations, styles, etc) May well be style is the problem, but that is a different discussion!

The issue remains the mentality, and has been so for the last few managers. Is Marti strong enough to sort it? Guess we shall see, but I certainly don't want a manager when sit where we are, and it is far above most peoples expectations. Yes, we are irritating as hell in terms of consistency, and I would give him a season to sort it out, or....

Why would he better? Is this just change in hope? This is a disturbing direction for a club in need of taking a moment to recognise/adapt where we are, and we probably need a slice of boring for a season or two. Would not even say we are having tough times, just extremely underwhelming , but even that compared to peoples suggestion we would be relegated is massively at odds.

Disagree on Fats, yes he will always be a show pony to some degree, until he grows out of it (or hopefully not ) but the decision to go the goal line and cross for Ramsey ‘s goal was pleasing. Agree on Monga, he is young and this type of performance are part and parcel of development. The art is managing such players minutes for both physical and mental development I would imagine.

People have a very old take in a what this forward position is for it seems! Throwing in youth in this instance is 100% not the answer in my opinion and will only damage their progress, and it is certainly cannot be just to provide fans with their pound of flesh. Priority #1: Get the youth out on loan, help them grow Priority #2: Change the system to work within the limitations of these forwards (cannot call them strikers) even if means not playing one and flooding midfield instead.

That is an excellent point, and I totally agree. If the club were to come out and tell the fans (pauses for laughter) that we are entering a new period where we are focusing on youth, I believe it could work. 100% on board that train, but....

History dictates no quarter is given to youth, (See @Gamble92 post above). Might still be a cost worth paying but to suggest fans forgive constant cock up because of youth is fanciful at best.

Well they clearly are not as good as we would like to think, as consecutive managers have not started them, Monga being the exception. Now, this might be done to how we are (instructed to) play, but regardless, it is true. Also, if he has had long enough to turn it around in some peoples opinion, he has therefore also he time to gauge if the youth is suitable for inclusion in the starting XI (you can’t have it both ways) Of course it could just be that he is encouraged to play some of the old guard, either from the board or senior player pressure. Or he is just an idiot. Or a footballing masochist.
