I said it previously the club has a bigger ego than Russell Martin and that’s saying something. The club was crying out for a Pearson type rebuild instead we’re gonna have endless passes going nowhere next season. I’d have had Challinor or taken a chance on Paddy McCarthy.

Only we could look past a manager who finished 3rd in league 1 last season for Russell fvcking Martin. I dread to think how long a contract we give him.

Knowing these clowns they’ll hire Martin and assume Hake was being interviewed for assistant without telling him.

If it was gonna be Martin I would have thought they’d have announced by now that Rowett has left. The longer this drags on the less likely it’ll be Martin. Yes I know I am clutching at straws.

I doubt that we have but I wonder if we’ve actually tried to get anyone currently at another club or have we just gone for anyone previously connected to Southampton. Out of a job or some previous link with Southampton seems to be the requirement. Instead of targeting the best realistic option.

Listened to his podcast with Lineker for about 10 mins. Like a lot of managers he came across ok. He talks a good game. What I find difficult with him is that it was done before he got the rangers job and it seems he’s learnt absolutely nothing from what happened at Southampton. It’s as if he’s just carried on as usual and not developed/changed his style to accommodate any opposition. That season we went up with Enzo we beat Southampton early in the campaign 4-1 away and 5-0 at home towards the end. You would have thought he’d have shown more tactical awareness later in season but if anything Southampton looked worse. Like a lot of recent managers we’ve had it seems to be one way of playing and if that’s not working we change personnel rather than change the system/shape. It’s not rocket science to change the system if it’s not worked for 60+ mins. My fear is if we hire Martin it’s gonna be even less likely we’ll change the system during matches.

The spells at MK Dons and Swansea were not good spells. Mid table midiocrity. Both sides improved after he left. Nothing to get excited with his appointment apart from his Mrs. Would rather we went for Challinor.

Imo Paddy McCarthy and Jason Tindall should be looked at. Could easily do a Davies, Skubala, McKenna etc.

Completely left field but what about Lilian Nalis. Currently assistant at Rennes. Spent his coaching career as an assistant. Worked a lot with Franck Haise. I know it’s prob unlikely but someone/anyone but Martin.

I’m hoping it will be mainly youth. Build a side around Alves, Nelson, Braybrooke and Page.

Unless he’s changed his style of play I genuinely think there’s more chance of us going down than going up with Martin in charge.

Why does it take us so long? Especially when there’s more chance whoever we hire will be out of work anyway. I’d say it’s because they have absolutely no idea who they want and probably the majority don’t want to join us with the financial mess we are in.

So potentially we have the chance to hire a manager who hasn’t finished below 5th in league 1 or hire someone who’s highest finish in the division is 13th. You really couldn’t make it up with these clowns.

Potter was supposedly all but done so I live in hope this doesn’t happen. There’s always a possibility it will fall apart. Come on Burnley you know you want him.
