People actually turning their head at Parker - mad - we would be super lucky if he even considered it with the state we are in - I’d take him with a heart beat

Everybody would but he’s not gonna manage a club in league 1.

  2. We won’t but we need to look at manager/coach ready to make the next step up from working at youth level.

It seems to be mainly in Scandinavia, France and Germany where there are successful.
David Wagner springs to mind from a few years ago as does Thomas Frank.
I don’t know a lot about him but someone like Johann Louvel who’s recently left Lyon’s academy as manager and has a background in youth development.
Or Daniel Bauer with a similar background with youth coaching experience.
Basically what we should be doing next season and should have done this season with the young players getting more first team experience.

Duff is a good shout tbh.

Would he leave Wycombe after only joining them several months ago??

He talked about wanting the opportunity to want to build something at Wycombe, probably off the back of things quite not working out for him at Swansea and Huddersfield (although I think he was sacked harshly at Huddersfield). Would he be happy with what he has at Wycombe and not want to risk it all, with managing us??

Imo Duff comes across as someone similar to Pearson that he won’t take any shit and back the way he wants to play but also flexible enough to change system/shape during a match if it isn’t working.
I agree the stumbling block is that he hasn’t been at Wycombe that long and we’re hardly that appealing to join.

  4. The options available to us are pretty poor or limited.
You either go for someone with experience in league 1 or lower like Challinor at Stockport (as long as they don’t go up) or you end up with someone who needs to rebuild their reputation. So a Ruben Selles, Will Still or Ryan Mason.
Failing those options you take a chance abroad like Huddersfield did a few years ago on an unknown like David Wagner.
Zero chance we even look abroad.
My preference is Michael Duff at Wycombe but I doubt we’ll even consider him.

  5. I really like Michael Duff.
Comes across as a tough bastard who takes no shit.
    Exactly what we need.
Will also change the system if it’s not working.
Has criticized the Wycombe players after losing to Lincoln at the weekend and ending their chances of getting into the playoffs.
Obviously zero chance of us even considering him but imo it’s someone we should be at least considering.

Darren Moore is the Marti Cifuentes of League 1

He did take Sheffield Wednesday up via the play offs in league 1 and then left because they reportedly didn’t treble his wages.
So expect him to be in charge next season on 90k a week on a 5 year contract.

Indeed. This is arguably the most important managerial appointment in our history. We need to do everything we can to get the best candidate—sentiment should play no part whatsoever in it.

You mean since the last one and the one before that…..

  8. I don’t see us getting anyone currently at another club. We’ve got fvck all to spend even on small compensation.

    Will Still

    Ruben Selles

    Ryan Mason

    Steven Gerrard

    Darren Moore

    Gerhard Struber

I know it’s a dreadful list but that’s where we are. The only saving grace is I don’t think Mr Ego Russell Martin would ever consider managing in league 1.

Not my wish list but a good guess of Rudkins shortlist (alongside Enzo, Rosenior and Graham Potter)

Selles or Still. Let the Southampton obsession continue.
