The Cricketer say he's agreed a deal with Hampshire. Staying until the end of the season. "I will be forever grateful to Leicestershire for the opportunity and support they have given me – they made me believe in myself," he said. "Time flies, and six years have passed quickly, filled with countless unforgettable moments at the club. At this juncture, I have decided to make a change, but Leicestershire CCC will always hold a special place in my memories. "It was a tough decision to make leaving a club that gave me an opportunity to play professional cricket. It feels that now is the right time for me to move on at this stage in my career. Leicestershire will always hold a special place in my heart. I have loved my time here as a Fox and couldn't be more grateful for all the support I have had." Patel was part of the side that won Division Two last summer (Andy Kearns/Getty Images) He added: We have three months to keep fighting, and I will be trying my hardest to keep the club in Division One, to win the 50-over cup, and make some more great memories." Claude Henderson, Leicestershire's director of cricket, confirmed that the county had "tried to convince Rishi to continue his journey" with the club, but Patel is believed to have agreed a move to the Utilita Bowl. -

He'll be 35 by the start of next season, so there may be a limit to what we offer him and how long for. Still looks to have some cricket in him though. John Simpson is nearly 38 and still going strong for Sussex, Chris Cooke is 40 at Glamorgan. -

Looking really good this morning, running in with more pace and intent. Reminds me a bit of Angus Fraser. -

Looks a perfect for Forest Green, once he's sacked from here. -

Yeh just to echo hat other people have said, all the best to Lewis, a great county pro, he probably could have gone on for a bit longer, but people generally know the right time to go. I remember going to watch him at the Oval in 2015, when he defiantly scored a hundred, keeping out rockets from Chris Tremlett and it obvious then that while he didn't have the natural talent, he had tremendous determination. This was the game that KP scored 355, flaying one of the worst Leicestershire sides ever - people like Rob Taylor and Neil Pinner in that team. -
How bad must Inaki Williams be now, that Ayew is selected ahead of him up front.

I used to go to the music library on Wellington Street (what a gift that place was), check new albums out and record the ones I liked on to cassette tapes. I could never of afforded to accumulate the personal library of albums that I did otherwise.
-
That makes me feel old. And yet....the memory of buying it is still very tangible, the whole experience in fact, going to the record shop, bring it home and not opening it until I got home. There is something special about gatefold albums and examining every inch of the cover design. Very different to now and having things selected for you on spotify.

And both black. He wears black on the outside, because black is how he feels on the inside. -

Great second innings effort, but another defeat. We really need a couple of wins from somewhere. The batting hasn't really been the problem this season, it's the lack of a quality, penetrative new-ball bowler, that could be an overseas player. -

Take out his 204 and first innings scores are roughly even. -

I had for a moment been transported back to 1982 and the John Player 40-Over Sunday League. BBC 2, after Sunday lunch. -

In the past I thin batters were given more time to develop and backed, whereas there seems to be a general impatience now. Guys lie Maddy and Stevens were in and around the first and second XLs for ages before they made that breakthrough and became first team regulars. Maybe we'll give Jamie Dunk a chance in the 40 over cup this year. -

Couple of promising knocks from Sheridan Gumbs though, really showing a bit of gumption. Perhaps a bit too rooted to the crease at times. -

There's the second one 8/2. My God, the commentary is pedestrian. -

No Ajaz Patel, bit of a wasted overseas spot at the moment. Looks very seamer friendly. -

Bit of a patched up squad, hopefully we give a run out to Alex Green, otherwise seam attack is a bit one-paced. No Josh Hull in the squad at all, is this because he needs to work on his game? -

If they'd gone to a real ale pub for a couple of jars they'd be none of this. Worst crime for me is going to this White Horse and Rex Rooms, full of Hooray Henrys and Sloan Rangers, the sort of places ex-Prince Andrew used to frequent. I thought Stokes had more class. -

Gumbs, top-scored for the seconds yesterday against Essex. Hill, Trevaskis, Scriven and Wood also playing. Xander Silverwood, son of Chris Silverwood, playing for Essex. -

Out for 12 weeks. Grade two ligament. So might be back for championship games at the end of the season, but misses the whole of white ball. Gumbs will have to fill-in -
