  1. Bought a brand new Sony Bravia 40" TV in 2005 and it still works perfectly, now upgraded to a Smart TV with a Fire Stick. Older than some of the people on here, no doubt.
  2. Watching Layer Cake - Sienna Miller
  3. The costume in Logan's Run is very memorable
  4. Maybe Currie would be back on loan?
  5. I don't really see how he makes the team. Bowling success last year was based on keeping it tight across all bowlers, that goes out the window if you have someone going at 7s, as the pressure is released. Alphonso clearly believes in him though. Agree with others that 3 years is generous, but that's probably the minimum he would accept given he was still in contract at Yorks.
  6. That is good news, though we need a batting coach now. I'm surprised that finances are in such a bad shape, considering we cut so many players last season and this (very thin squad now) and got to and won the one day cup final
  7. The puzzling loan now makes more sense. We seem to be getting Hampshire's ex-England under-19 players as Scriven followed the same route.
  8. Personally think it's a shame that Ed Barnes wasn't given another year. He still had room for improvement and is useful backup. He's also a real cricket badger so good to have around. I hope he gets another county. With so many being let go, I assume we have some signings in the pipeline.
  9. Most of those must of signed contracts by now, especially the Surrey boys. Kiran Carlsson would be a good a replacement if he still hasn't extended, but unlikely to come here. Slim pickings otherwise. Best hope would be to get someone from abroad on a UK passport.
  10. Announcement on Monday about Wright, all sounds positive according to the RL podcast.
  11. Probably make a good coach as well. Great role model for the younger pros and always speaks thoughtfully about the game.
  12. Blimey, don't recall anything like that happening before. I guess watch this space, but hopefully he'll stay here.
  13. Not much and that would be the issue and risk in signing him. It's another quality of Wright, in that he has missed so few games, despite his age. Rare amongst pace bowlers
  14. Jake Ball, still has a lot to offer, though quite expensive. I heard Derbyshire were after Patel.
  15. Especially losing Ackerman and Wright. Take those two out of the side and we are considerable weaker.
  16. They are all essentially cover, unless one of them kicks on and improves and they are all young enough still to do that. But we need an attack leader to replace Wright. A seam bowler must be leaving Notts. By my reckoning they have: Fletcher, Tongue, Stone, Pennington, Paterson, Ball, Hutton, Pettman, James and whichever overseas bowler they sign.
  17. Do we conclude then, that Thomas will be offered the Head Coach job, with titch as Assistant. We'll still need another coach as we're one short.
  18. Harry Swindells: Leicestershire's One-Day Cup hero was looking for a new job before final - BBC Sport Best shop window he could have hoped for. Hopefully get a contract elsewhere now, if we don't renew.
  19. Could do with a sixth bowler to turn to. Bowling looks a bit thin.
  20. And we don't have Handscombe available. Personally think we should pick our best team to win a trophy, hopefully we will do anyway. This has shades of Scott Boswell, where we picked him for the final after his semi performance instead of selecting Devon Malcolm.
  21. Jeremy Vine spotted in the Old Horse this evening
  22. I think it's ridiculous, we are shooting ourselves in the foot, not including Ahmed and Parkinson on the squad, Ramji is miles off their ability. Hampshire have included loads of players who didn't feature in the group stage and only came in for the knock-out stage. Fuller, Dawson, Wheal, Gubbins, Crane
  23. Fantastic effort. We can really be proud of Leicestershire again this season. Umpires having words with Paul Farbrace, hopefully Sussex will get a punishment.
  24. In the most recent podcast of 'The Analyst, Inside Cricket', Simon Hughes and Simon Mann talk about the bids for Headingley, including one from Manoj Badale, owner of the Rajasthan Royals. Hughes mentions that Badale once had an interest in Leicestershire and wanted to stage a Champions Cup game there, but the ECB wasn't keen, so he pulled out. Oh what could of been!
  25. So much for the batting points! Promotion gone in one morning, fall apart without Handscomb and Mulder.
